Would that those ladies weren't a gaggle of house fraus The one who brought it up was lamenting her daughter's dietary predilections, and asserting her own unfounded concerns over it. Maybe what I should have done is said, "it sounds like your daughter has been reading my blog. Is she single? Is she my age?", ha ha ha!

Pearl was a master old-school BB genius, but he didn't go veg until later in his life. Steve Holt is a more recent example -dude started lifting in his forties, and is a world-class natural veg BB now.
RE: Veggeep's Creatine Ethyl Esther Review (danmirage)

 who cold forget the PEARL!!

RE: Veggeep's Creatine Ethyl Esther Review (deweydog78)

don't forget bill pearl was a vegetarian also.

RE: Veggeep's Creatine Ethyl Esther Review (danmirage)

If he rips his shirt of in front of a bunch of ladies...he will be too busy to post on DB!!!
We will never see him again!

Hey veg..this was not theoretical information this was from testing the blood, hair, skin and nails of hundreds of veggie athletes. So these were not salad eaters but real vegetarians.

This Dr, wanted to know the truth behind the myths...and it's funny that all he found was those 3!

Of course, for an athlete to be short carnatine and creatine can affect performance..but would likely be because of performance. And all us smart veggies know about the B-12 thing.

There is also an amazing veg who has blood work done frequently to demonstrate the exceptional health and growth you get as a veg...puts the myths to shame.

You are a great model for the Veggie BBs out there too!
RE: Veggeep's Creatine Ethyl Esther Review (johnny_rotten)

ORIGINAL: veggeep

......It was all I could do to keep from ripping my shirt off and throwing a "most muscular" pose their way -"HOW'S THIS for protein inadequacy, LADIES?!"

Ya do that the next time Veg, and be sure to tell us how it turns out!! lol
RE: Veggeep's Creatine Ethyl Esther Review (veggeep)

Yeah, that's why I'm such a profound creatine responder. I used it a long time ago when I was still eating red meat, and I don't remember it being quite this effective.

However, I should also point out that the whole vegetarians being "short on this" and "short on that" mentality doesn't seem to have turned up any legitimate deficiencies in the real world (outside of extreme cases). Especially in bodybuilding, where even vegetarians eat (on average) more than twice as much as non-bodybuilding or health conscious people. I'm sure there are cases of malnutrition among vegetarians, but they haven't cornered the market by a long shot. Honestly. For every expert who claims vegetarians are at a dire risk of B12 deficiency, there is another expert right behind him claiming that vitamins in general are ineffective and a waste of money. vegetarian horror stories are becoming almost as prevalent as the dairy industry's fabricated calcium scare.

Just last night, I overheard a conversation in one of my favorite restaurants -a couple of gals regurgitating that some old wive's tale about how hard it is to get protein on a vegetarian diet, and how inadequate the amino acid profile of vegetarian food is. It was all I could do to keep from ripping my shirt off and throwing a "most muscular" pose their way -"HOW'S THIS for protein inadequacy, LADIES?!" It's okay, I told myself. They don't know any better. To them, vegetarianism is all about iceberg lettuce salads and carrot sticks. They're just repeating what they've read in a lifetime of Vogue articles.

RE: Veggeep's Creatine Ethyl Esther Review (danmirage)

Check it out Nutrition Dr. was telling me vegetarians are often shown to be short Carnatine (suggested 100-200 g a day), Creatine (suggested 1-2 g), and of course B-12..duh.

Just came up in a talk.
RE: Veggeep's Creatine Ethyl Esther Review (veggeep)

 [sm=update.gif]
Okay folks, I think I've been on this stuff long enough to render a verdict.

I'm not impressed

Creatine ethyl ester appears to have (at least for me) no better or worse performance than standard creatine monohydrate. I have noticed that all of the inter and intra-workout recovery and endurance that I get from monohydrate was the same on CEE; however, the cell volumization I'm used to with monohydrate is completely missing from the CEE variety. I don't feel any fuller or more solid between workouts after two weeks of daily supplementation than I did on monohydrate, and that's more than half of why I take it.

That is by design, after all.

CEE is supposed to be more fat suluble than monohydrate, and therefore can penetrate cell membranes easier and drag less water in with it. That's all fine and dandy if you want the strength and performance increase of creatine without the bloat.

Me? I want the bloat. Hook me up!

RE: Veggeep's Creatine Ethyl Esther Review (motoboy737)

 Thanx alot.

RE: Veggeep's Creatine Ethyl Esther Review (veggeep)

 Moto
I use the standard 4 to 5 gram dose every day, regardless of workout.

Jayman
Can't say with any certainty, 'cause I only took it for three days before I cycled off for two weeks. I'll start back up on Sunday, and if my previous experiences with coming off a break are any indication, I should have a final verdict by the end of March.

The nice part is, the Commonwealth of Vriginia just paid for my next CEE investment. I never play scratch-off lottery tickets (been over ten years since I bothered); but yesterday on the way to work, I stopped at a convenience store and bought two $10 tickets with my morning coffee. What the hell, right? One of them scored $20, so I was happy to break even. Then I played the other one and scored a hundred bucks! BOO YAHH! Nothing like a free Benjamin to brighten your morning
