random Q - Sunday, November 01, 2009 6:07 PM ( #1 )
Alright so I've got fairly low BF, around 9% is my guess.  Not a full-blown no-flex sixer, but the abs are coming out.  The question is.. Why am I getting better definition at night?  When I wake up the definition has sort of faded away, and it stays like that til around late afternoon, then they start to show again.  This is the case regardless of when (or whether) I work out.

Why is that??

it may have to do when you eat the most carbs and how hydrated you are throughout the day.  If you eat your major meals early as the night goes on your carb stores are depleted and you will lose some puffiness and gain definition.  The same thing goes with your hydration levels.

Thats weird then, because your glycogen stores would be fairly low when waking up. wouldnt that allow for more definition?

My guess is Hydration. Maybe just usage of your core through out the day as well?

yea i've been trying to figure it out, considering carb depletion, hydration, etc... but i just can't make any sense of it.  do any of you guys get this?  i guess since i'm right on the verge of having nice abs, maybe the subtleties show up a lot stronger than if i was a BF% higher or lower.

what is your lighting situation like... do you observe this regardless of where you are, or do you only "check your definition" in certain locations (geographic). The difference that lighting plays on how defined you look is rather significant.

This is gonna sound stupid, but...

Could your abs relax overnight, and get pumped through use throughout the day?

Yeah I think that's what N$ was getting at in his last sentence.  I suppose that could be part of it, but how pumped can my abs get when I'm basically just sittin around all day?

Oh, have I been misled?:  Thought I could get a "no flex sixer," as you call it, by simply sitting around.  No?  Isn't there some pill?
