ok, first one is which is the best brand/best bang for your buck? I'm currently looking at Optimum Health 100% Casein. is that any good? what's the difference between 100% Casein and 100% Natural Casein? I already have a large diet schedule of about 290g protein per day. It's arranged like this: 7:15am (after lifting): IDS Smart Gainer w/ milk (65g protein) 9:30am (at work): 6 Egg hard boiled egg whites (30g) 10:30: 6 Egg hard boiled egg whites (30g) 11:30: Handful of baby carrots 12:30: Lots of low fat PB on pumpernickel bread (25g?) 1:30: Broiled Chicken Breast (35g) 2:30: Grapes 3:30 Canned Tuna (25g) 4:30: Apple 5:30: Canned Chicken (50g) 7:30 (at home): Home made protein bar (30g) would taking a 20g protein shake before bed put me into the "overkill" range? if so, what should i substitute out for a dose of Casein protein before bed? Im 23 years old, 6'0" and lift split work outs 5-6 days a week also, what's 2:1:1 recovery? i saw that it's a mix of fast/medium/slow digesting proteins. is it any good? worth the money?

Whatever you do, don't get ON 100% casein vanilla flavor. I can't imagine anyone on the face of the earth actually enjoying the taste. Cottage cheese is a good casein substitute.

yeah, i was going to go with the chocolate vlavor if i were to get the protein. i'm more worried about just having too much protein and having it go to waste. should i take a meal out of my schedule and replace it with a scoop of casein before bed? should i mix it with milk or just water? also, will this stuff keep me awake if i take it right before bed? i know it's weird, but i tend to either have a hard time sleeping, or have really weird nightmares, if i ingest anything rihgt before bed. does anybody have that problem if they take casein right before bed?

just take the casein right before you hop into bed... some people say to mix 1 scoop of casein and 1 scoop of whey post workout and that is supposed to be really good for you. I actually read that in muscle and fitness. you can mix it with either... milk makes it taste amazing, but I dont because of the extra calories and fat. any musclemilk flavor + milk = ORGASMIC :P

I have the Optimum Health 100% all natural whey protein vanilla flavored and i love it. Im going to go buy the 100% all natural casein probably next week. The difference between the regular and the all natural is........ the regular comes in like 16 flavors and has like 25 ingredients. i think the all natural only comes in 2-3 flavors, and only has like 7 ingredients(6 of them being from natural ingredients). if i was you i would get all natural. I was going to buy the 2:1:1 recovery, but i just drink a whey protein shake after my workouts. If you dont want to buy casein, just eat cottage cheese(if you can stomache it). hope this helps also here is a good video about why all natural protein is better for you: http://www.youtube.com/...?v=kyeAI3EivJk
