When they say you need to eat 6 meals a day (each every 3 hours) to increase your metabolism , does that mean you need to keep doing that for like a year or something for your metabolism to become faster , or it takes less time?

You misunderstand.

Its a transient bump in your metabolism. Each time you eat, you get a small, transient bump. So eating 4 to 5 times a day, is better than once or twice. Make sense?

So, to answer your question -- this needs to be a lifestyle change. Thus, I'd recommend 4 to 5 meals, and not six.
