pullup bar?

What do you use for a pullup bar in your home gym? I'd like to mount a pipe from the floor joists above my head in the basement, but can't figure out the best way to go about doing this. Any other ideas? I don't want to put one in a doorway, I want to get it high, where I have trouble touching the ground, and don't have to tuck my legs up behind me.
