just do as many as you can do, take a whiles rest, do as many as you can do, take another break, do a few sets until you cant even do 1 pullup on your last set. do this 2 times a week. make sure you give a few days rest between each though so your muscles can rebuild. get on a good diet, take in alot of protein and calories. no soda and junk food. at the academy they put you on a 5,000 calroie diet. what kind of academy are you looking into? my brother is in the naval academy as a 1st year pleeb and he had a hell of a time with the PRT (physical readiness test) hes got the brains i got the brones, hes smart im dumb, im strong hes not. you need to look into other things also, they make you run ALOT, i belive its 2-3 miles every single day in under 15 minutes or so i belive at like 4 or 5 in the morning. they also make you do alot of push ups and sit ups ontop of the pull ups, work on those main exercises, and they make you do varius other obstical coruses you have to complete such as ropes and rock climbing and crawling in the mud through barbed wire and shooting guns and shiz. they are NOT going to take it easy on you, its going to be physicly and mentaly exhausting, so be ready, but once you get past the first few weeks itll get easier, after the boot camp comes the education and collage part witch is easier for some then the physical. good luck, let us know how you do.

yea i go to airforce boot camp on june 5. the thing im gonna hate the most is the running. like carl said in any boot camp you do a lot of running and you will lose weight, but a lot of it will be muscle. but from what ive heard tech school is laid back and its easy to get laid, plus you'll have a lot more freedom in tech rather then in basic training.

Nothing to do with the academys but.. During this wrestling season we had to do pull ups everyday before practice started with as many as you could do on your own and then coach would help with the rest to 10.. once you could do 10 on your own you moved up to 15..20..25..30 etc (some of the people were up to like 40's+) This helped a lot but your arms are very tired so I sugest like carl said do it 2-3 times a week i started off doing 2 and got up to around 12 by the end of the season.

How much do you weigh? I'm asking because, if you can bench 245, squat 420 and clean 240 you should be able to do more than 7 pull-ups.
