6'1, 250 30%bf. would like to get to a ripped 210-215.. my plan is to wake at 0730. and eat oatmeal, scoop of protein containing 25g/with glass of water, and yogurt for breakfast. 1030 another scoop of protein with a bananna and turkey sandwich on whole wheat. 1330 chicken breast, veggie(corn, green beans,) and some whole wheat rice...430 anothe scoop of protein for pre workout shake. 6work out. 730 two scoops of protein with milk, chicken breast with a veggie and rice...1030 scoop of protein, and cup of cottage cheese. would this be enough to help maintain muscle mass and yet drop the bf percentage? This is what I have gathered from other post on this site and this is what i've come up with..

It looks like you have 6 scoops of protein daily.. too much. Enough would be 1 scoop pre workout and maybe 2 scoops post workout.. Maybe even 1 scoop with breakfast.. but 6 daily is too much.. Get the rest of your protein naturally.

I read that if you take it pre workout you just use it for energy and the protein isn't of use.

I think smoundzou is correct. It's too much and too expensive. Get ripped first, get rid of some rice, look for natural protien, watch the bread. look at 130 grams of carbs per day. cut out your banana, maybe have it straight after workout with your shake, watch the corn. Protien shake within 1 hour before workout then have Cretien 15mins before workout, then cretien 15mins after workout then protien shake within an hour after workout. 60% protien 30% carbs 20% fat. get Omega3 fish oil tables and get some musashi fat loss (this has protien plus aminos) for just before bed and first thing in the morning This way you are getting your protien, correct fats and you can control your carbs by cutting out and introducing them

I read that if you take it pre workout you just use it for energy and the protein isn't of use. I think I may have mis-typed something... in my first response. I suggested 1 scoop pre and 2 scoops post and maybe 1 scoop for breakfast. Correction... 1 scoop for breakfast, simply because the body has been without nutrients for 8 hours and whey is fast absorbing and a quick easy way to feed the muscles. 1 Scoop pre workout for the obvious.. to have a continuous flow of protein to the muscles while they are being taxed.. 1 Scoop Post workout.. Not 2 scoops. Again, whey is a fast absorbing protein and what's not absorbed by the body is only stored or flushed out. this is a good time to combine the whey protein with some type of slow ingesting protein such as casein from milk.

What dosage are we talking about smoundzou I have 2 1/2 scoops before and 2 1/2 after workouts 2 1/2 scoops = 1 serve which is around 25 grams of protein (reccommended on my whey brand) should this be halfed do you think? so I scoop before and after 14grams before and 14 grams after, it's costing a fortune. I'm on a weight loss Musashi also late at night and first in the morning which also has protien and BCAA's.

Generally, I scoop, or 30g of Whey protein normally = 23g grams of protein. some manufacturers list I serving as 2 scoops, (60g) which would be approximately 46g of whey protein.. When I say one scoop, I am refering to 1 serving, 30 grams, 23 grams of protein. IMO.. 2.5 servings is too much and a waste. Whey is fast absorbing and I don't think the body is capable of ingesting that much before it is either stored or passed through the body.. Which brand of Whey are you taking.. Try Bodyfortress, it's 23g per serving.. only 12.99 at Wallmart.. Ive taken just about every brand on the market and honestly.. the Bodyfortress is the least expensive and the vanilla actually taste better than any brand i've ever tried..

protein is fine to supplement with, but your diet should be built around real foodsfor protein...chicken, tuna, turkey, etc. basically, aim to just rely on protein with workouts, breakfast, and cases where a shake would be very convenient, like in between classes or something, etc... in my opinion, you can add it to things to up the protein, but dont base meals around you protein being from whey with exception to breakfast and workouts. for instance, ill add like 1/4 or 1/2 soops to milk at meals somtimes just as a boost
