Re:project new me. - Thursday, August 13, 2009 6:05 PM ( #153 )
well im getting over being sick. Played football again today, I have this terrible case of straining my quadriceps...ever since high school, it sucks so bad.

other then that the deloading week is going well, enjoying it. Ill be back in the gym for a bit tomorrow.

Starting the 20 rep squat on monday, and yes im pretty nervous/excited at the same time.

Im going to re figure my caloric maintenance and figure out some adjustments.

I also have a few other plans I am trying to make while doing this, it may hinder results a bit but I can live with it.

at least 10 miles of running a week. Mix of HIIT/Steady

1400 push ups a week. 200 every day, 100 in the morning 100 at night.

1400 sit ups a week, 200 a day, 100 morning, 100 night.

Body weight exercises, I should be fine with the volume.

As well as the DBB.com challenges every single week.

My carbohydrate intake is going to be a bit lower then what it should be. As I think I have come to learn my body is pretty sensitive to carbs. I wont be going any true low carb or anything like that. But the carbs will be kept fairly low especially for a program like this.

I will post measurements before I start hopefully. and will update again before I start officially.

I think what this most recent "bulk" has taught me, is that my body doesnt handle carbs all that well on a regular basis. I could go low low carb for the next week and take a pic and I would look 10x better then I would right now. While I wont be going low carb for this program A.) I need them B.) the gallon of milk has a good amount already. I think that other then the milk I will be keeping my carbs similar to my cut before. Mostly in the morning, and no more at night besides the milk. Regardless Im still fairly happy, and after I get done with this...I will probably get back to a low carb cut down the body fat again and train purely for speed and strength so I can focus on the WR position I want to play. But this is all nice in talk, need to make it happen first...

Re:project new me. - Monday, August 17, 2009 9:58 PM ( #154 )
oh boy what have I gotten myself into...

I dont know what it was...

But this workout kicked my ass, and it wasnt just the 20 rep squats...im not used to this high rep stuff and just caught me off guard. wow...this is going to get very...very...very very very hard...

OH press 3x12x95 lb's
Squats 1x20x225
Pull overs 1x20x20 lb's
Bench 3x12x185
Rows 3x15x135
SLDL 1x15x135
Pull overs 1x20x20 lb's

+2xabs, 2xdips

Those 20 rep squats really worked my abs and lower back...at first I was like my legs are fine...they later turned to jello.

Yeah I believe this routine would really kick your butt, be sure to eat!  I think you could make great progress if you keep moving those weights up and make it as heavy as you can with all those reps.

You are going to be able to squat like a somb1tch after this is over. The best I ever did was 225 x 20 and I thought I was going to die.

Re:project new me. - Thursday, August 20, 2009 8:38 PM ( #161 )
Thanks...haha your too kind.

The internet monster ate this long ass post...so here goes another one but shorter.

Below is a timeline I did from the end of my cut to tonight at work. Perhaps it was all in my head about feeling leaner or actually being it.

Im at 218-219 right now, and while I would have loved the 207-218 jump to be all muscle, its not :P. But I dont think its too much. Nearly all of it is back on my stomach.

Tradeoff? Im a hell of a lot stronger then I was before, at a much lower body weight and bodyfat level. Im still a long way away from my goal. (220 @ 10%) but I would settle for 215@10%.

I want to be there or close by spring next year. Im going back to college D1 school and want to try to walk onto the football team. So who knows. It basically comes down to I need to put on some more muscle, get stronger, lose some body fat and get faster. haha, easier said then done.

Aiming for a 4.5 forty if anyone cares. 4.4 if I find out once I lose some more fat I has good genetics :P

I will turn to steroids if I HAVE too...but for now I will stay clean. I have considered them several times before but always decide not too. I almost decided to try them now on this squat program...Damn devil on my shoulder always talkin to me...

Anyway, yeah so far im not too disappointed with the timeline. Yeah some is fat, but I put on some good muscle too and think its going fairly well.

Oh yeah. About the squats. Im fairly confident I can get into 270ish range with close to no problem if I stay on the diet. I have a pretty strong will power thing going on. It is difficult though, I wont bull**** around that. Hardest workout I have ever done by far.

Milk is getting easier to drink too, those first few days really really sucked.

Still jealous and tempted to be on this program, hope it packs some serious muscle on you.  The thing that makes me laugh is if you took steroids while on this program it would kind of defeat its purpose, since it is used to increase the flow of hormones and turn you into an anabolic machine without the juice.

lol...yeah I know. I always get so tempted because I see A LOT of people doing them...and as I have come to learn playing sports in college and even pro, steroids run rampant.

Im fighting an uphill battle going it naturally...but I know im doing the smart thing for now.

OH press 95x3x12
Squats 235x1x20
Pull overs 30x1x20
Bench 185x3x12
BB rows 135x3x15
Upped SLDL to 145x1x15
Pull overs 30x1x20

Dips 2x16BW, 4x abs

1 week down...5 to go! haha

week remarks:

I notice that its not even that its killing my legs (squats) My lower back really starts to get fatigued around reps 13-14 and makes the rest a living hell. But its good I suppose, my lower back/ab's need to get stronger and im not using a belt while doing these. I wonder if its because im using low bar...im more inclined to believe that my lower back is just weaker then everything else.

I may have started too high in bench. Not sure yet, perhaps im just not eating enough...I may make some adjustments, but I will see how next week goes.

The plan is to increase every week on all the auxillary lifts, accept for SLDL which will go up every fridays workout.

Not sure if the Pull overs really work to expand the rib cage...but they sure do offer a rest from the 20 rep squats.

Jesus has not came down to work in with my squats yet :P

Your probably feeling it in your lower back because of the low bar position, when you are at the top your lower back is still fighting cause the low bar forces you forward more.

I'm starting this tomorrow - with no milk, keto macros with a 500 surplus, and HIIT after I lift and a jog at night.

This will either make me or kill me.

I wouldn't be surprised if in the 6 weeks on it while drinking that much milk you put on primarily lean mass, although much past 6 weeks if you tried to keep doing it, I doubt you would keep feeling the same.

Re:project new me. - Friday, August 28, 2009 4:21 PM ( #177 )
OH press* I did the DBB #3 challenge in place of todays 3x12x100. I got 10 points, which ends up to be I completed all the way up to 135x6. Couldnt do anymore after that, my shoulders were done.

I also did them after my 20 rep squats...so I really feel beat after this workout.

squats 1x20x250...yep I hit the big 250...It is definitely getting harder but not hard enough for me to think I may not complete it yet.

pull overs 1x20x20'lbs
Rows 3x15x140
SLDL 1x15x145
Bench 3x12x190

Benching was tough because I killed my shoulders doing the OH press challenge.

I skipped assistance exercises...and I did some stair running but no HIIT...like I said Im beat.

I have concluded...I sweat WAY too much...ugh

These are not the droids your looking for...

haha no, no jedi mind tricks, your not going crazy. You can upload online/offline avatars.

one is my online and one is my offline :P

Perry- Yeah the whole goal is to add 5 lb's to your squat every workout for 6 weeks. Now trying to add 5 lb's to everything is a little un realistic especially to things like OH press and bench, unless you start way to low...

so for everything else I progress every week. the squats go up every workout.
