I have always been more of a body builder than a powerlifter, but recently i signed up for a college contest. i think i have a good shot my weight class is 148-165 and i am around 164. i bench 255 and i think ive got a shot there. my squat went down recently due to a hammy pull during sprints, but it is 355. any ideas on what to do to get prepped, including energy supplements before the contest? i have 4 wks before it starts and i currently use whey proetin, casein protein, 2 methyl 13-c (like no-xplode). any help would be great.

As pre-contest prep is one of my things that I consider important I do this: 5 weeks prior: kick everything into gear...lift as many sets of doubles and triple I can do. Make sure also to do ur fair share of supplemetal lifts. 4 weeks prior: Begin to use suat suit, bench shirt, knee wraps, wrist wraps, belt (if u dont already use it). Focus on getting in tons of protein also. 3 weeks prior: Start to incorporate single into your workout...not heavy single but lifts that involve the powerlifting commands and such. 2 weeks prior: FIND ALL MAXES week of: this is very important in aspects of rest and protein and calorie intake. eat as much protein as u can without gaining weight thats put u outa ur class. day before: if u find out that ur gonna make weight easy...go to a buffeet and EAT. U want to be fueled...if u need to lose weight take a protein shake and DOMINATE some fruit and healthy stuff. Morning of: upon waking eat an apple (or some fruit), a source of carbo, and a source of protein. Drink plenty of water and get hydrated (should do this the night before also)...go threw thurrow equipment check also. I also find that Red Bull during the event helps a lot. I also like power gel. THis works for me...adn witht he food stuff...make sure that u are able to lift in ur class when u eat a lot. Dont over do it.
