Basically, you want to start off with a cutting phase and then go into a bulking phase. It's good to see you've got your goals in mind, that's a great place to start. Most people want to start off trying to do both at once, which is really inefficient. Like 8pack said, start lifting even though you're trying to lose fat- It helps a lot with that process, definitely doesn't interfere with it, and the sooner you start, the better.
