posting timers - Tuesday, August 05, 2008 6:55 PM
why do we have it?  why do we have to wait so long after we post something to post again?

if i have something intelligent to say (which doesn't happen often) i have to wait like a minute just to post it.  by that time, i've either forgotten, or just don't care anymore.

We have it to stop spammers and spam bots. If you've just created a post and thought of something new to say in that thread... you can edit your post. But, you can only create 1 new post per minute.

Because we can manage 1 post a minute if a bot gets into the site... but I, nor any other mods/admins, feel like deleting more posts then 1 per minute.

It's not that big of a deal... almost every other forum has the same settings in place. If you really need to say something within 60 seconds of your last post but within 60 seconds you forgot about it or just don't care anymore... then it wasn't really needed :)

I'll be upgrading the forum software in the next day or two... maybe the new version will allow for some new options in regards to this matter.
