post workout fast carbs.? - Friday, June 27, 2008 1:41 PM
taking whey after a workout is basically a given to most of us. But read some contreversial articles that go against some other info.

First I think Twisted Might of said a while back like he eats an apple or bannana after his workout to get some carbs.
But I thought fruits were a slow digesting carb.

I read that your supposed to take a fast digesting carb post workout to get your insulin up and restore glycogen./feed your muscles

But then for that matter how many grams? ... so then for convienience could we just mix pwdered sugar in our whey?

I also read in a biking magazine(I mountain and road bike for those who don't know) that with some rides when its pretty obvious that ur going off fat cells that u should wait 2 hours after ur ride to further "Breaking the Wall"(used to describe the switch between burining carbs, glycogen,ATP, or however that works, to burning bodyfat) easynesss and further use fat cells as energy.

this could be applied to empty morning runs I would think but wouldn't the body also breakdown muscle cells for energy?

Fruits are high glycemic, quick digesting carbs, simple carbs.
