Hello, i have a contest in 2 months time, and i don't know what oil i can use. Some people tell me i can use baby oil, but others say will make me look like a mirror on stage. I also heard that i can use suntanning oil to that effect. What do you think? My skin is very fair, but i can get a reasonable tan, should i still buy the extremely expensive artificial tan lotion to use for contest?

Don't use baby oil.   It does shine too much.  Some bodybuilders use "Pam" cooking spray.  It works, but you smell like "food."  LOL  There are some very good products on the market.  Check out the Tanning Products section in the cyber store on www.bodybuilding.com

Now, for tanning.  Here is the bodybuilders guide to tanning: "If you think you are dark enough, put on two more coats."   And, that's a fact!  Smile

The only problem with dream tan is that it never dries.  You stay wet and leave your mark everywhere you touch.  Sometimes it runs, if you begin sweating too much under the stage lights.   My solution is expensive but, for me the best.  I get professionally sprayed on Wednesday evening, Thursday evening and Friday morning before my competition.  I stay dark, dry and even throughout the contest.  It really works.   I buy a 3 spray package for around $70.00.  It's worth every dime.   No worry backstage.   I sometimes add a very thin coat of posing oil just before I pump up.  Brings out the sheen.
