Remember the body needs fats, theyre very important, the dude ive been training up went to hospital for fainting, apparently his diet lacked salt and fats by a large amount, and that his blood pressure was too low because of it and caused him to collapse.

THANKS for pointing that out TWISTED...!

Last February, the same thing happened to me, I thought I was with the cleanest diet ever. But the thing is, I DO NEED fat...

But I eat it in consideration though...

+ I've read that the recommended daily sodium intake (roughly) is about 2400mg.

Yeah thats sodium, on its own.

They do that to "half truth" the numbers a tad

see i meant 6 grams of SALT, sodium chloride, that statistic is 2.4 grams sodium, when you have 6 grams of sodium CHLORIDE, you have around 2.4grams of sodium

I think, If that isnt the case, then i would consider health propaganda if it was an American source, considering obesity and heart damage is a major problem in America, i wouldnt be surprised if its RDA's differed from other countries.

My packages here say 6 grams salt (2.4 grams sodium and the rest chlorine)

Another good example is on that picture of half truths

they say "saturated fat-20 grams"

so people think to only eat 20 grams of fat-and thats it

And believe me thats dangerous.

If youre tired, hungry, running out of chicken, and need the calories for your workout earlier that day, my best advice is to order a pizza, because thats the best delivery food youre gonna get for your weightlifting

Damn, I just got back from vacation and left this thread on page 1, now it's page 3. The entire point of this thread was to answer the question: Pizza Post-Workout. Simple answer: Not a great idea for most people.

Then this whole thing got blown out of proportion. Twisted is on his rant again, which is fine, and Italianangel even popped in here against him. A little much guys? Pizza=Not a good post-workout meal. End of Discussion.

one of my friends plays college football and he was telling me that their strength and conditioning coach was telling them that pizza after a workout is pretty good for you because of all the carbs and added protein

in order to become a coach you are not required to take a nutrian class. also if you meet someone that calle self a nutrianist just walk the other way. their is abousoulty no requirments to be a nutrianist. you don't even need a basic biology class. if you wanted too you could start up a business as a nutirist and scam people out of money and its all 100% legal.  are you should you want to be taking diet advice from someone with no background in science, someone who knows nothing about human health. you should take advice from a regiestered dietian.

Because he does not have the ability to articulate the word correctly outside this forum, therefore he types the word the way he speaks it. Or, he's trying to write as diligently and sophisticated as I do. Quite a shame he failed miserably at that.

-Haha. Just kidding.

nutritionists can be good and know their stuff, but they dont really have to either...in fact, i went to one like that a few years ago because i didnt know that..it was pointless

I think it's fine to have say a slice of pizza with a protein shake after a workout. The complex carbs would spike insulin, improving protein absorbtion.

People overreact about pizza. It's fine in moderation, but I wouldn't eat it too often. At the end of the day your macro breakdown and total calories is what matters.

sorry if this question sounds stupid however what do you mean by complex carbs spiking insulin, which improves protein absorbtion? I'm not very good with the nutritional aspect of weightlifting. I usually lift from 630-8pm. go straight home, have a protein shake with two scoops of whey(50g/protein) 1 cup of milk, and mix in a heap of peanut butter into the blender. Should I be doing something different to assist with protein absorbtion?

Yes, eliminate fat in you're post workout meal.  Fat slows the absorbtion of the whey.  I hear mixed things about milk postworkout however.  And no complex carbs do not spike insulin.  A simple carb like a banana will spike insulin and is perfect for postworkout.  You need carbs AND protein for after a workout.

so keep the shake however replace the peanut butter with a banana? Is the peanut butter still good as long as its not used in a post workout shake?

A pizza after working out? Sounds lovely - all I've had lately is a parking ticket.
Going to hit epistane soon.
