your not over training.

It probably is just a coincidence. Think about other things, are you getting enough sleep? eating/drinking right/enough? wash your hands...theres tons of things here.

you may be over reaching...thats possible, but I dont know what your doing training wise

Another subject, but whenever I catch a cold it seems to be after drinking alcohol.  Which is why I don't drink much:  Not enough bang for the buck:  a little buzz and a massive hangover.  Not worth it.  I know, lightweight.  :(  Regarding the colds, perhaps the alcohol lowers my immunity.

Oh my god.  I thought I was the only one with this problem.  There must be something to it.  My money's on the fact that alcohol dilates your blood vessels, thereby (possibly) making it easier for pathogens to get into and cruise around in your bloodstream unchecked.  Or maybe the burden of metabolizing alcohol really does monopolize the liver and kidneys more than we thought?

Two things are guaranteed to give me a chest cold every time: excessive alcohol consumption, and significant (an hour or more) exposure to second-hand cigarette smoke.

Speaking of which, I hope I didn't invite any nasties last night... had dinner with my pop for his birthday and we polished off a bunch of Sam Adams and a bottle of pinot noir.  More than I've drank in the past three months

Of course, I had my requisite sixteen trips to the kitchen in the middle of the night to guzzle water and kill the cotton mouth.  Talk about lightweight!

Are you my better-looking twin brother. separated at birth?  I'm the ugly duckling Mom gave up for a little cigarette money.  No fair, you got the looks and the brain, and left me with nothin', nothin' I tell ya!  Stingy bastud brudda!  I love you, man!  Sob, sob.  :(

over reaching is the state your reach before over training, and this is where it stops about 99% of people.

fatigue, sleeplessness, lack of strength, lose in focus etc are all signs you may be over reaching.

If you were overtraining you wouldn't be asking; it's a condition that cannot go unnoticed.

Overreaching, as N$ pointed out, is the first stage of overtraining and if often mistake with overtraining itself. You'd need to ignore the symptoms and affects of overreaching for months before you would enter an overreaching stage.

As far as overreaching goes, the formula is just to take 5-7 days off training. Overtraining would need several weeks and can even take months to recuperate from.

I wouldn't take a week off or something like that, but it's up to you.

When I was crazy working out (5-6 days a week of heavy lifting) back then, and only got 6 hours of sleep a day, I make up for my lack of sleep during the weekends.

Sure, it felt very tiring during the week. During the weekends, however, I can sleep like 10 hours per night. It felt so damn good the next morning. All I can tell you is sleep more. It's a really nice way to recuperate.
