Hi,

i was wondering what you guys think about the powerplate (http://www.powerplateusa.com/). We have one in our gym, but mostly women use it. I tried it once for fun after a workout and it's a lot harder than it looks! The instructor says he gained a lot of strength because of it. It's supposed to affect 100 % of your muscle fibres and help blood circulation and stuff...

Think it's worth a try?

So what does this thing do? I looked at the site and could not get a good feel for what you do on this machine. Do you just stand on it and it vibrates? It looks impressive that so many pro sports teams use it. But it kinda looked gimmicky to me.

But if it was in my gym, I'd give it a try. I'm always up for something new.

Is it for cardio or strength? I mean, I would not use it to replace a lifting routine or anything.

The results shoulde be: more strength, better bloodcirculation, loss of fat and stonger bones. There's always one day of rest between each session and in each session (about 20 minutes) you do a total body workout (only one or two exercises/ muscle group), so additional weight lifting would result in overtraining.

But like I said, I only tried it once. To do more i gotta pay upSmile. So I only know this stuff in theory.
