is it okay to eat fruits (like apples, pears, berries, bananas) by itself as a snack in between meals? or should i eat it with a fat/protein source?

It is a fantastic idea. The enzymes from the fruit will make your meals much more bioavailable.

You should look into getting some cherries! Cherries stay fresh for about a week and if you plant all the seeds, you might get a cherry tree if you live in a cool area. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6124646/ I recently added cherries into my bag of fruity snacks, grapefruit, etc Rule of thumb: Snack on that which brings the most benefit for the proper time.

Great idea. It wouldn't be a bad idea, especially if possible, to add some type of nut to that snack. Preferably almonds or cashews perhaps.
