weighed at 172.2 no change from last week. Another weigh in tomorrow morning. I'm leaving for florida for the week and my goal for this week is not to put any weight back on, considering I'm not going to be watching calories strickly next week. When I return I'm going to up the cardio to 1/2 hour and train 5 times per week instead of 4. I'm going to post that split ASAP. Morning weight: 170.8

I've been on vacation for the last week. I was in florida and of course I ate like crap while I was there. I just hope I did gain too much weight back over this last week. But I'm not going to let it phase me. This is the point where I've always gone wrong in the past. Whenever I encounter a setback such as a vacation to get me off schedule, or a plateau in my progress, I always screw it all up and give up hope. This time, I won't let it happen. Today I'm going right back to the gym and leaving off exactly were I was with my diet. I figure, that's where we seperate the men from the boys, the ones that can get knocked down, and get right back up and leave off. Here is my new 5 day split starting today: On all training days, 30 minutes moderately paced cardio Monday - Quads(9 sets) Calfs(6 sets) Tuesday - Chest (9 sets) Wednesday - Off Thursday - Back(9), Hams (6) Friday - Shoulders (9), Traps (3) Saturday - Off Sunday - Biceps (6) Triceps (6) Forearms (3)

Well, since my last weigh in before my florida vacation, I've gained 2 lbs. I'm 174.2 This discourages me quite a bit since now in 5 weeks I've only net lost .8 pounds. I'm not gonna let it knock me off track though, I'm gonna suck it up and keep hitting the gym hard. I have felt stronger however in these last 5 weeks because I've been doing Max-OT. Is there anyway I've gained some muscle and that's why I haven't lost much weight?

Thanks for the feedback. Next Friday I'm going to get a BF% measurement at my gym and really see whatsup. At least I can feel happy that there have been some positives over the last month. I haven't gotten the "cutting" results I'm looking for yet, but I have certainly made some real progress on my leg days. My worst muscle used to be hamstrings, but in the last 2 months, I've made sick gains on ham curls. I've been really serious about legs recently so I've been doing lots of squats, deadlifts so my legs have gotten quite stronger.

Weigh in: Last night 172.4 This morning 171.0 I lost all the crap I gained in florida :) I've been trying HIIT a little this week to experiment and it seems to be working. A typical day at the gym in the last week has looked like this Max-OT style lifting (6-9 sets per muscle group) 1 to 2 muscle groups per day 20 minutes moderate cardio on stair-master 10 minutes of HIIT style cardio (1 minute sprints on treadmil followed by 1 minute rest - total of 5 sprints)

I am so damn sore this morning....all the workouts these week definitely caught up with me...and also I'm not used to this sprinting stuff so I have aches all over my legs not to mention the soreness from heavy leg presses on Monday. Also my chest, traps, lower back...all sore...i think today is a good day for a rest :)

169.4 (3/18/04 9:46 pm) Not much loss this week -.2, but i guess it's better than nothing. I kinda cheated a little more than usual this week so I'll attribute the slow progress to that. Nevertheless, I'm increasing cardio by 10 minutes this upcoming week.

167 lbs. another -1 lbs. A couple more weeks to go until I start bulking. I'd like to lose at least another 2 pounds. I've been experimenting with Max-OT getting all aspects of that program down.

What are you doing for cardio? The thing that gets me through the drugery of cardio is to always try to beat *something*. I try to go a little further, burn a few more calories, shave a few more seconds off my mile, etc etc. It keeps it somewhat interesting. I also play a mental game where I change something every minute or so. I increase speed, incline, whatever. It seems to help, knowing that no matter the current misery, it will change (for better or worse) in less than 60 seconds. Cardio sucks.
