Hey everybody. Question. I'm 24 and just started weightlifting probably about 2 weeks ago. My weight is at 155 pounds at a height of 5'9"; My body is a slim to medium build with a little above average fat percentage. My main goal is to bulk up and gain strength and lean muscle mass but not to gain a "pop belly"/ very high fat percentage in the process. For my weight im thinking about eating 2800 calories a day ( thats 18 cal/per pound) and am going 30% protein, 50 % carbs 20% fats. With a proper work out regimen like max-out, should I be gaining more lean muscle than fat? I understand that my muscles will not be refined as when " Cutting" during the bulking process, but does an individual look tend to look more on the muscular side then the fat side when bulking? i was also thinking about using muscle juice 2544 in between meals. Anyone with any advice is deeply appreciated. Thanks guys.

when bulking you do not gain more fat or more muscles....you gain MASS which is the combination of both. you might gain more fat then muscles or vice verca...but it will only depends on the way you train, eat, sleep.

How your body handles the amount and types of foods you eat determines how well you bulk "clean". Clean refering to gaining more muscle to fat mass. There are some great posts about nutrient timeing you'll want to search for. Also the type of carbs you eat is a huge factor. Try for a balanced low glysemic carbs with each meal (need I say include lean protein as well) and when consumeing fats they should be the good variety omega 3's etc. Most importantly see how your body responds and adjust accordingly. You may not want to go from a 2000 cal diet to 3000 cal right away, but gradually increase meal size and or frequency to atleast 6 meals a day. Good luck, and theres a few training journals out here you can read to see how others are bulking and training.
