hi everyone, i am new here. 44 yr old female, 5'11". i have been doing aerobics for a little over 2 months, & all i really got from it was a very tight ass(thats a good thing) & exercise asthma...lol...so i have changed my routine. i just started lifting heavy weights(free weight & 2 machines)i wa tired of working so hard & neverseeing any results. i want to look close to a pro. i know i will never be a pro, but all the kids are gone, i have lost 65 lbs & have around 45 more to go. since i am so tall, will i still be able to see some defination in my arms. my Dad has great legs & i get that from him. i have been hearing lately that it is ok for femals to lift heavy. i have always been athletic & i love lifting, but i am doing about 30 mins lifting, with 10 mins bike warmup & 10 mins bike cool down & then water aerobics for an hr. i have never been sore, but was told that was because i do the water thing.this is a great site & since i have just started, i will accept any tweeking" that comes my way...thanks again, sharon

that's hard to say it all depends on your genes. Are you wanting to get big muscle's ? If so then lift heavy but not alot of reps. some where around 5-6 reps x 5 sets. You would also want to do 1 week of squats deadlifts and bench press then the next week shaping lifts. which would be more reps less pounds.
