If you had to choose when you take muscle milk protein, would it be best before your workout or after?  For the best benefit.....

Yes, after workout with water. Some people prefer milk but milk digests too slowley and you really want the protein synthesis to happen as soon as possible after workout.

I take my creatine after workout wait about 20 minutes then take MM (w/milk) and have been getting really great results...my best post workout setup yet. I never really have seemed to hit a wall.

i take a whey shake directly after, and a MM shake before bed...so it can digest over night...

if you workout late in the day like i do, i def reccommend a mm shake before bed.

Currently I'm trying to cut back how much im spending on supps in the last month I think I spent close to 500 bux. So I am mixing one cup ON `100% Whey with one cup Muscle Milk 3 times a day, and so far so good.

First off Muscle Milk is the best tasting powder ever.

Re it's effectiveness for postworkout...someone mentioned that not mixing it with milk is better bc the fat in milk will slow the absorption rate.  i agree with this.

however, why are you taking MM if you want a fast absorbing protein?  MM is made up of 28% fat anyways...another example of supplement companies misleading consumers by throwing a label on that says 'tricks body into protein synthesist'

Even with water your still not getting a fast absorbing protein if this is your goal.  I would take MM as a meal replacement at best.

I would say it is not the MOST EFFECTIVE postworkout shake and would stick with a pure isolate with no artificial flavours or sweetners

But I have to say...it tastes flipping amazing...i even caught my gf drinking one...haha

You're exactly right. And I'll go a step farther and say that I can't think of too many worse things than Muscle Milk that you could take immediately after a workout. There are 18g of fat per serving which will slow your absorbtion of the protein down to a snails crawl. This stuff is meant to be taken an hour or so before a workout and before bed regardless of what the label tells you. Do a little science research before you believe these supplement suppliers statements. Stick with a high % whey protein(fat free) and at least equal part simple sugar to go with it after your workout. Don't miss your absorbtion window because of too much fat intake.
