What is the most protein your body can use at one time?
 
lets say you ate 60g of protein in a meal would some of that be wasted or would your body use all of it.

ive read that your body responds best to frequent doses of 30-50grams.
Bench Press Max - 170kg @ 100kg
Squat Max - 220kg @100kg
Deadlift Max - 275kg @100kg

Weight - 90kg

Everyone is different. I'm sure the total bodyweight, metabolism (the rate your body uses energy), and the other macronutrients consumed in the meal would be a factor that comes into play.

A lot of people talk about their daily intake of protein, but too much protein in one setting your body will not process, it will just be stored as fat, too less protein is catabolism. So the best idea, generally, is give your body enough protein but not too much in one meal. If I consume 300g of protein in the morning and ignore protein during the rest of the day, about 260g of that protein just got stored as fat for me.

I try to consume about 40g of protein per meal. My diet looks like this.

Morning- 5 eggs, Bowl of Oatmeal
Post-Morning- Whey protein with milk and a bananna
Lunch- Chicken, brown rice, veggies
Workout.
Post-workout- Chicken, brown rice, veggie
Last meal of the day- MuscleMilk with milk

MVP is correct.  Also, the activities 3 hours before, and three hours after your meal influence how much your body can utilize also.  For instance if you go do some heavy lifting, and then have a protein shake, your body is going to absorb more of the nutrients because it's in a nutrient deficient state.

However if you went to a Chinese Buffet and ate like a horse, you probably wouldn't absorb as much.

I try to get at least 50g of protein every time I eat.  I used to eat less than that and just get 1.5X my bodyweight, but once I switched to 50g/meal, I've been getting stronger faster.  Some people can work well with less protein, some need more.  I guess you just need to experiment a little bit.

I wonder how the different types Casein/whey influence this.

As in if you take 50g of whey the same time you take 20g of casein, since the casein takes longer to digest and absorb if that would actually happen instead of going to waste.

I wonder how the different types Casein/whey influence this.

As in if you take 50g of whey the same time you take 20g of casein, since the casein takes longer to digest and absorb if that would actually happen instead of going to waste.

I would suspect that the amount of extra protein absorbed by the casein wouldn't be anything sufficient.  Similar to how pepper burns calories, but you burn more calories putting the pepper on your food.
