minor rotator cuff pain - Friday, October 07, 2005 8:53 AM ( #1 )
A while ago I got a slight rubbing in my sholder ( It dident hurt and dident make noise but you could fell somthing rubbing) I think its from doing front DB raises And a few weeks later it disapered. I did heavy front raises agian 3 days ago and its back and every time I do the movement of the front raise I can feel the rubbing again, its allitle more noticable now than the first time. Im thinking of taking a week off of the weights because its been 7 weeks of lifting enyways and its time for me to take a break.

it doesent have aot of pain but its a noticable rubbing of somthing in my shoulders. will it heal like last time. Im totaly ditching front DB raies.

If it hurts to do something, then stop doing it. Simple.

Take a bit of time off from weights. When you return, ditch the front raises and slowly ease back into the shoulder routine ensuring that you are adequately warmed up and stretched before hand.

Catman, I couldn't have said it better myself...lol

Rockwell (Rock_fght).  Listen to Lynx100.   Lay off the shoulder work for awhile.  It will get better.  For minor pain there is a product called IcyHot a pain relieving balm, available at any drug store.  If the pain gets worse or persists, I would have your shoulder checked by a doctor.

When I had my bicep tendonitis, it was so bad that any curling motions or pull ups hurt.

So I quit working arms and didn't do pull ups.

About 4 weeks later I was good to go.  At some point, it's best just to lay off entirely from the area or any exercise that aggrevates it in a negative way.

Shoulders are tricky.  There are serveral stickies in this forum on rotator cuff injuries and methods of rebabilitation.

After my snowboarding fall, I had to lay off shoulders for a bit as well until the area healed up.  Now, I'm 100% back to the routine and have been for a while.  But it did take a good 4 months until it quit hurting and aching.

Atleast you were smart with your injury Marc.

Sometimes i wonder what percentage of injuries are due to our ego and what percentage is ACTUAL injuries...

Also sounds like you have tight pec attachments bringing shoulders forward causing poor tracking and impingment, stretch your chest more....maybe see about deep tissue and I would get it check out anyway, just incase.
