man after looking at these posts i'm really impressed. - Thursday, May 22, 2008 6:45 PM ( #1 )
i really wish i would've done before and after pictures.  it's really cool to see progress that people make and total body transformations, especially mettajjica.

just imagine a really really really really fat kid with man boobs and all that, then look at me now.  that's what i love about the whole  sport of bodybuilding

and i don't remember who's quote it is, but i've been living by it the past few days, it's something like "i'll do what you won't today, so i can do what you can't tomorrow" or something like that. it really kicks in when i've got on rep left, and i think i can't do it, but i think about it and it gets me through.

but congrats to all of you, it really is amazing to see

You're pretty diesel dude.  You should find some old pics from the family album and post them or something.  And the quote is from rollingstone

i was thinking about finding some old vacation pics from the beach or something.  i'm just glad i don't look like it anymore.

i'm still just amazed and awestruck at the way people are able to do it. if you think about it, it's actually really really cool

and you're right, it's from him. it's an excellent quote

Thanks for the props bro. I've definitely given up a lot to get where I am today... still have a bit to go. You're right about this section of the forum though... often times inspiring. By the way, from your picture I think it's safe to say that I'm afraid you'll eat my unborn children. Lookin jacked guy.

appreciate it dude.  it took alot of hard work and prohormones definatly helped for alittle while, but i wouldn't reccomend them.  hard work and diet (and some supps) got me where i am today, and i'm about to do my first comp this july.

this is the first BB forum i've actually started to post on, and i think it's pretty cool, especially this section.  whenever you plateau, and think it's pointless, it's good to have inspiration like this to pick you back up and stuff. that's why i love bodybuilding so much.  it's not a "me vs. you" thing, it's a "me vs. me" thing

i'm not trying to knit-pick what you say... and you may have no meant this at all...

but when a plateau is reached, that means it's time to change things up.  the body has grown accustomed to whatever routine you are doing.

i dunno.. i just read that and was like "uh... looking at pictures won't change the fact that i have plateaued.  I'm still pushing as hard as i can."

gotta shock the body and throw something totally new at it.   it will react and take off just like before.

anyways.. u may have already known that, or maybe not.  either way... just had to mention that.

good catch, bad wording on my part i guess. didn't really think about that when i wrote it

but you're right, humans are adaptative animals, and we get used to certain exercises and stuff, you are exactly right. i guess what i should have said is "when you feel like you're not gaining or  changing at all, and feel like giving up and it's not "worth it", it's a good place to come to kind of push you."

you're exactly right. my bad

i guess i was blessed with that.  i was cursed with long arms and legs though. (i'm 6'2)
one think that i don't know if everyone else does on here that i've been taught has been CRUCIAL is going until failure on ever set and rep.  like to that one rep where you can't do it by yourself.  that's what i was taught and i think that has something to do with it

or it could be genetics.  my dad was about 6'1 and he used to gain mass just by thinking about it
