I have a bar exactly like the one pictured and it infact only weighs around 10-15 lbs. So imo its not that unbelievable realy that he could bench 100-105 lbs. I was benching around 120-135 in the 5'th-6'th grade (1rm) and so was my friend and we weren't all that big at all. I can only bench in the low 200's now that I am 18 although I didn't stick to any work out routine for any extended period of time. I believe him. 100 or so lbs isn't going to break his wrists.Smile

strongest boy in the world? he was like 8 and he was like, uber-ripped

Its called roids and drugs

Not only that but indeed his muscles dont look very stressed in the pictures.
believe me aged 12 your wrists will be under serious pressure at 130lbs, my wrists hurt like mad when i max bench 135lbs and im a fully fused 18 year old.

Coldsteel, it may be picking an incredibly picky fight, you are correct, though id personally think the ages that bones fuse are more commonly aged 16 rather than 18-22, growth (meaning bones havent fused yet) does happen aged 18-22(though ive seen none of it grrrr) but a lot of people and you can ask people on this forum stopped growing aged 16 ish, john cleese stopped growing aged 13.

Like i said-very picky, but i think 16 is more common than 18-22, or do different bones fuse at different ages? i dont know the answer to that so does anyone else? lol

quote:

and his elbows are locked

like i said last time, i can lift a bench bar up weighing 205lbs and lock my elbows and keep it there with relative ease, its lowering it down and putting it back up at that weight i cannot do, the same with the squat. (max bench and squat is in sig)

I dont really like dissing someone entirely, so KEFE, i must admit your back is nicely defined, and for 12-you have a brilliant physique, i just dont believe your numbers man, but by all means keep working weights.

I don't mean to argue with you but maby you have some sort of wrist problems? I don't remember having any pain when lifting when I was younger. If 135 hurt your wrists at 18 maby you are holding the bar wrong or you have wrist problems is all I can think of. That 8yo kid that was on roids or w/e he was taking was benching something like 200 or 220 I can't remember and even his wrists seemed to be ok. I just think you are applying something that specifically effects you to everyone else. I can hardly feel 135 on the bar anymore when benching and I am as old as you are.Smile

The reason i dont have any pictures of me with the bar going down then up is because  they were a blur and i didnt save them.i was "locking out" while begining a session like you would read on the proper way to bench press. this is straight from building muscle 101.com "
1. Lie back on the bench with your feet firmly planted on the floor and back pressed firmly against the padding.

2. Take a tight grip of the barbell (overhand) with your thumbs roughly 3 feet (90cm) apart. Make sure that your grip is balanced between both sides of your body. Once your grip is set, press your shoulders down and back into the bench. This will push up your pectoral girdle and allow for a much better stimulation.

3. Lift the bar from the rack.

Execution

1. Take the barbell from the rack and lock your elbows at the top position. Lower the barbell to the nipple area of the chest, slowly and under control, keeping your elbows away and outward from the trunk of your body.

2. As the weight lowers, be sure not to bounce the weight - very important - do not bounce the weight from the chest. Lightly touch the chest and push the weight back up in a controlled fashion. Beginners may find that the weight starts to fall forward or backward or that the weight is rising unevenly because one arm is stronger than the other. Don’t worry too much about this and concentrate on the movement itself. After a couple of weeks you will develop a groove and this movement will be second nature."
i ahve some pics that arent blurry if you want to see them of me benching  95

im 15 and i bench 145. my wrist hurt somtimes. but like he said i usually take boxing wrist wraps and wrap my wrist to keep them straight. it helps. plus if u dont have good forum it kills the weight u can actually do. and its weird cause when i bench with a 45 pound bar i max at 145 but when i bench on a 25 pound bar i can max 155.

Don't worry about the haters bud, they don't change how much you can lift and you got nothing to prove to a bunch of skeptic people on the internet.

That says it all, KEFE, you know what you can and cannot do. You have no reason to feel like you have to prove yourself to anyone else, keep up the good work, your lookin good. Most 12 y/o kids havent even thought of lifting, im impressed.

You can bench 145? Nice. When I was 10, I could do... 120, but I only did it a few times. But when I turned 13 I got back into working out, and now I can do 200.

Indeed, however doing Advanced level physics i know muscle only goes a certain amount

I have a 38.5 inch chest that can only bench 135lbs
some people have 30 inch chests here apparently that can bench 200-350lbs

and weigh less-meaning the muscle is less dense...

this makes sense how?

well unless some people can break the laws of physics-it doesn't

Im not jealous

Many people here bench more than me...actually...let me rephrase that...EVERYONE here benches more than me, but i dont go around telling them theyre lying.

It's just the farfetched ones i dont believe til i see with my eyes

did you ever see that show on discovery channel, strongest boy in the world? he was like 8 and he was like, uber-ripped

Are you talking about the kid whose father made him workout like 24/7? Yeah, he is in protective custody now. His father never let him outside, unless he was working out. I saw it on one of those TV Specials like 20/20 or whatever. The kid isn't allowed to lift until he is something like 18. And he can only start running when he turns 16. When you look at it, it's more sad then exciting.

i don't remember that part, but his dad was living his dream of becoming a famous bodybuilder vicariously through his son.  an old trainer talked of seeing his dad put all sorts of crap into the kids food, and when confronted, physically threatened the guy.  he was obsessive, and tried to kill his wife, i think.
