A couple of visits with a physical therapist, a lot of ice, and a change in my form have all helped me get over my injuries. My arm is back to 100%, and my shoulder is nearly there. My partner went on the South Beach diet on the advice of his doctor, and I said I would do it with him. I the last 10 days I've dropped 5-6 lbs to his 3-4 (figures), and I'm seeing still MORE definition popping up. I figure I'm down to between 10% and 13% bodyfat now. I have to say, of all the "buy my book" diet plans I've seen, I'm impressed that the South Beach diet guides people into long-term healty eating habits. My biggest complaint is probably the emphasis on artificial sweeteners over sugar. All of the low-carb products on the market are just loaded with artifical ingredients, and they leave me feeling a little ill. But sticking to vegetables, lean meat, and fish works much better for me, and the diet encourages that. I must be doing something right, because I was asked by a friend if I'd be willing to pose for an art class he's in

Dropped another pound, we've moved on the next phase of the diet where we cna have fruit and whole grains again. I never though oatmeal would taste so good! My energy level is much better.

After two months of physical therapy, I can finally do a good heavy bench press and feel it in my chest instead of my left shoulder. I am doing exactly what my physical therapist said, he says if I don't I'll be a "boomerang client", one that keeps coming back. Of course, by now my workout partner is working out with 325 on bench...so I have some catching up to do.

THE SQUIRREL LIVES!!!!!!!!! Welcome back, PH, you have been missed. Yeah, as sadistic as those PT folks are, they do know what they are talking about. So behave, do what they tell you and you'll be back at it before you know it. Paul

Last night my partner and I posed together for an art class in Santa Cruz. It's taken a long time for him to feel good about his body, but now he's got 16 1/2" arms and huge shoulders, so this was a good source of validation for him. I'm still trying to figure out how he bench presses 325 lbs and I press 195, and we both have 41" chests. I guess his arms are a LOT stronger than mine!
