Blech, talk about no energy. I think tuesday and yesterday were a little more intense than they should have been but here goes.

Chest
Flat Bench
135x12,185x10,225x6,225x5,225x5
Incline DB Fly (Really struggled here)
40x8,35x10,35x10
Incline DB Press
60x10,65x8,65x8
Flat Bench w/2 second pause 1 inch above chest
135x12

Tri
Overhead Cable Extensions
120x12,120x12,120x12

At this point I knew I was just going thru the motions. Called it a day.

Played over an hour of table tennis, so got in some cardio and a little stretching.

Come back and hit it tomorrow.

Paul

Once again just cardio. Do any other larger folks have issues with the belts of certain treadmills 'grabbing' when you stride? That happened a lot today and it was ANNOYING!!!!

Treadmill:
Time: 22:00
Distance: 1.91
Cals: 416

Shorter distance, more cals? Huh? Smile Then again it's just an estimate.
Wanted to get 2miles in less than 22min but just was dragging the whole time.

OK, I'm starting to get in a funk. My shoulder is worse, I slept terribly last night because everytime I moved it felt like I was being stabbed. Gotta call the Dr and see what's up, not happy.

Feeling pretty down right now :-(

Well after my fabulous Week 1 of Critical Bench, I caught the flu.. so while I'm sick now typing this, I know I'll have to recover, start over and do it again.. so it's more like 14 weeks to my max. Smile

Hope you get better Paul. Shoulder stuff is not cool. But you know, I did pretty well and I never worked shoulders. And when I did, I felt I tweaked them. You can probably lay off all direct shoulder work, recover and still be okay doing other exercises. I don't think it was until late 2003 that I even did shoulders. I got so much work on them with just about everything else.

I've been happy to have worked them directly now but really, recovery is the most important issue.

Stick with it bro. Could be a tear, could be tendinitis or it could be that a particular exercise and way you sleep aggravates the injury.

Well, not good news. Looks like C7 is out of alignment and maybe T1 also. Gotta have a C-Spine on Monday to verify. This sucks major league A$$. To say that I am bummed would be a MASSIVE understatement. Had no idea that my spine was the issue, felt muscular to me the whole time. Crap. have I mentioned that this sucks Smile.

Ah well, that's what happens when the warranty expires.

I hope that it turns out NOT to be the case, should know next week, hopefully by Wednesday. Been told to do NO exercising until the Xrays have been evaluated. I was like 'you're kidding right?'.....NOPE......This is gonna be a long week.

Hummm..

That does suck. Smile

Well.. I'd suggest rest no matter how much that sucks because you can heal from this and be back and at it. My wife has had spinal issues and she made a fantastic comeback. It just is very depressing as you state. My thoughts are directed at you getting better man.

I agree with mda, rest. This does suck, but think about this. The more rest you get, the more energetic you'l feel and the more your body will heal itself!

Did your doc tell whether or not you can work too? I would get a playstation 2 from someone and grab a really long game like Final Fantasy and try and beat it. That's what I did when I was out for 2 months last year.

Keep eating right, sleep a lot, and a playstation can be your best friend in times like these! Just don't let the playing carry over with you when you get better, which I'm sure by then you'll be foaming at the mouth to get to the gym!

Marc & Slayer,

Thanks for the support, I was feeling pretty sorry for myself when I posted that last. Just gonna deal with it and do what I need to do to get it taken care of.

As to work, no problem there. I just can't exercise much, can still walk so will have to do that and not succumb to emotional eating.

If you can still walk, then I would still do your cardio. It sucks that you can't lift, but maybe you can take this time to drop down your body fat %? Hopefullly everything will turn out ok!Smile

Just confirmed that the wife had C6 & C7 out of wack. Bone spur. She actually had a massage therapist friend work it out rather then have surgery. That was about 5 years ago. And she goes to the gym more often then I do. Especially today since I still has this lousy flu.

So it does suck. But my un-professional, non-medical, Criminal Justice Degree at a 4-year university opinion is: You will be back to working out within a year if not less.

Just had my C-Spine X-rays done. Hopefully I will have more info on what the heck is going on by Wednesday. It's really stiff and I feel the 'tightness' all the time now.

Bah

Dr has informed that I have some degeneration at C7/T1 and need to lay off traditional squats and such. I have a follow up appointment today and will get more info then.
