Ever heard of the story where some fat guys are athletic than leaner ones? They have better stamina and all? Well, it can be connected to this. Fat guys, though athletic, still have the lower hand. They are actually risking themselves more by not living a healthy lifestyle. Although they can pride themselves on being more athletic than their leaner counterparts, they should also pride themselves in being more prone to drop dead.

My point being, it doesnt mean that since there are no obvious effects, you're healthy...

Then again, this is a bodybuilding website... Not wholly a melting pot of health concerned people....

what happens when you stop working out, and you keep drinking.. is it alright than?? And a hangover, which really puts a 2 day damper into your workout schedule.

and Big Mike is alot bigger than me, so hell yeah drink it up, unless you're planning on being a pro bodybuilder.  I'm all about working out and having a good physique, but don't let it compromise you're social life unless you are planning on making money off of it.

i drink on the weekend, because im a teenager,

I bet you feel cool...dont you!  that is probably the stupidest thing ive heard in a while(not the thing you just said but basically this whole topic).  So basically you drink to be cool in front of your friends , and chill with the popular kids.  i do plan on making it, in NY getting a scholarship to a d2 football school his junior year is pretty rare, and i sure as hell dont wanna mess that up.  And not saying your lying BUT most people that are my strength that i personally know dont drink or smoke because they know the effects that it has on them, and they wouldnt be stupid enough to do it.  Because becoming this strong isnt frigging easy, and i have never touched a beer in my life or even attempted to buy a pack of "boges" to look cool. haha being his big is your social life, when i got my scholarship my fridays were the gym and the grill with my friends, we had to workout and eat.  You dont get it do you, i guess heres where my maturity comes in where most teenagers dont have it... From my 3 years at the gym ive seen the most people on mondays and the least on the weekends... why do you ask? because their partying it up, and trying to work it off on monday.  My friend asked me one day why he only squats 225, i reply with "because my friday includes no weed, and yours does" It might not being that weed is making him only squat 225, but its the dedication factor. I sure as hell would love to see someone get to my size w/o any supplements(other than protein) and still drink beer.   You have pics?

Well man I'm sure I could get you some, but its not quite my top priority to prove anything to you.  What I'm thinking is perhaps you're just offended by the fact that someone can be as big as you are, and still have a little social life on the side.  Not that I am bashing you for your hard work and dedication, but come on you're being a little ridiculous arent you?  I always make my Friday workout and then drink the next day. I mean I had an offer from a division 2 school last year while partying it up.  Big Mike, you are not the supreme being of weightlifting like you think you are.  I myself am only 5'10 and bench pressed 335 while cutting months ago.  So you really dont need to generalize to everyone the way you did, because there is always gonna be someone better.

what is really bizarre and i'm sure will disappoint big mike is that this kid who played football for my high school 2 years ago, now hes a sophmore in college, he got a full scholarship to a D1 college for football to play linebacker. he's 6'1 and weighs only 220. hes strong as hell and fast as hell. finishing high school he barely benched 300 thought. he smoked weed and drank beer liek it was his job. he barely EVER lifted weights. another kid, same age as him, one of the biggest pot heads i've known, was the number 1 wrestler in New England for 2 years in a row, at a pretty hard weight class, also a full scholarship to one of the top wrestling schools in the country. the wrestler also rarely worked out, and he only started wrestling his sophmore year. that's genetics for you.

Alcohol and drugs clearly has some effect on you, to how far of a degree nobody here can really prove. What it comes down to is:

If getting drunk gives you satisfaction, and you can accept the fact that there will at least be a tiny bit of a disadvantage to your health, then do it.

If dedicating everything to weightlfiting gives you satisfaction, and you'd like a tiny advantage over those that do, and you don't need drugs to enjoy yourself, then do it.

Personally I drink and smoke weed regularily, but I have no grand dream of rising up as professional athlete. I work out to look good and handle myself in fights. I do drugs to enjoy myself and possibly get into fights. Works out pretty well.
