Smile Great job man!!! The hard work is paying off. You shouldn't get too much flak for being a easy gainer. You've worked hard and gone through alot of crap. I really enjoy reading up on your progress and stumbling blocks. Everytime something knocks you down you get back up and keep going..gives me motivation as well.

Thanks
Rob

Smile not that I try to motivate anyone, but that's awesome that my motivation helps others to stay motivated.

But, honestly, I might make it sound like I have bad luck or whatever, but I don't. I don't feel bad for being an easy gainer, because the first 25 years of my life were hell. I've decided that I'm not going to let that happen the next 25+ years. Not that I could control half of those years.

Trust me, I have been through hell and back emotionally. The 45 minutes or so I spend lifting clears all that negative crap out of my head. I could babble on about my lifestory, but I'm sure I'll get the chance to later on. I have proven the medical profession dead wrong since I was born. I have never ceased to amaze any doctor who sees me. I surprise myself sometimes. Let's just say that have a rare "disability" since birth has kinda made my skin pretty tough.

I think I have a lot of genetic potential. I don't want to let that slip by. it's going to take a LOT of hard work and dedication to build the muscle I want, but as long as I keep pushing my limits I'll be the best I can be.

Well, I gained 2 pounds this week. 1.7 lbs muscle, .3 lbs fat. Not bad, but cardio could make it better. I'm still around 19% BF. And I must say, my diet sucked the last half of the week. I'm going to try one more week with minimal cardio. If I still don't see great results, I'm gettin back on that stairmaster. I just need to see how I do with not eating the junk I ate this weekend. Not saying I'm not happy with gaining almost 2 lbs of muscle, but I didn't want to gain the fat, and some of that could be water in the LBM because I had some soda the last couple of days. Overall, not too bad, but could be better -- although I think I am a mesomorph and not an endomorph like I thought I was.. April is coming fast!Smile

It's kinda strange. My skin feels smooth lately for some reason. Smoother than normal. Might be the extra fat I have been eating.

I meant to post this yesterday:

Weight: 223lbs
Bodyfat: 19%
Lean Body Mass: 180.63lbs

My chest actually grew, and my hips and waist shrank! I'm pretty psyched about that. Check out my bodybuilding journal to see the measurements. I'm just starting to get worried about the arms not growing. We'll see in a couple of weeks. If I still don't see results, then I will change things. I think it might be I'm losing fat all around and I am actually putting on muscle but losing fat in my arms too. My neck size shrank too! I thought that was kinda cool that i was actually losing fat. I know where the excess fat weight came from because my diet sucked this past weekend.

D: Shoulders & Triceps
1. Lever Shoulder Press
2. Barbell Upright Row
3. Cable Row
4. Dumbbell Triceps Extension
5. Cable One Arm Pushdown

Biggest change was my shoulder routine. I took the Dumbbell bent over row with elbows extended out because i thought my back was getting to much of the workout. I think this will allow me to hit biceps and triceps a little more intense than my other routine. I'll try and stick with this one for a little bit and see what results I get.

Noticed a lack of Military Press, is there a reason? The upright row is more of a Trap exercise, consider switching it out for Front Plate Raise or something similar that hits the Delts. Otherwise looks pretty good to me.

This shows you what a Front Plate Raise is: http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/exercise3/frontplateraise.htm

Trust me, it absolutely terrorizes the front Delts.

I was going to pick the Military Press, but opted for the Shoulder Press on a plate loaded machine since this is really the first routine that i am using "heavier" weights and didn't realize what a rack was for and was concerned about form.Smile Doing barbell Squats has cured my worries and I am going to probably change it up next week a little bit. Are there any workouts for shoulders to isolate them? My left shoulder is smaller than my right one from what I can tell.

Also, according to ExRx, the upright row hits the side delts. But maybe I'll move it to trap day instead.

I always found that upright rows are more traps but yes the lateral delts do get hit but I have always found that to be secondary to my traps, maybe it was just how I was doing the exercise, dunno.

But for solid looking shoulders, my favorite has always been military press with dumbbells. This really hits the anterior delts and works the laterals also. Plus it lets me show off my triceps Smile

As a variation I throw in Arnold presses also. Then again, I'm not gonna be doing any training for a while looks like Smile

But as always, if it works for you, then my advice is STICK WITH IT!!!!! Smile

But it's only one beer.....

And that's all it takes to kill your great week of workouts. Sure, I could have thrown in some cardio to make my life easier this past weekend, but NOOOOO. So, what do 3 birthdays, pizza, and cake do to a week of pretty good lifting? DEFLATE THE MUSCLES! It sucks that I worked so damn hard in the gym this past week and I lost muscle and fat. Yeah, my nuitrition sucked Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday. It's only ONE cheat day, not 3 1/2! But, birthdays come but once a year. Too bad that wasn't mine...LOL.

So, yeah.....

Weight: 220lbs
Bodyfat: 19%
Lean Body Mass: 178.2lbs

OH you will be sore tomorrow!
you got that right. I woke up this morning and stretched my back. It felt great for a split second and then I felt a little sore, which is NOT bad! I'm feeling a little bit more sore, which means I'll probably be feeling it more tomorrow morning.

speaking of sore, if I'm not sore from my killer bicep I'm gonna be ticked. I tried using the ezbar and I love it. SO MUCH BETTER. I also changed to the barbell bench press instead of the ISO plate loaded machine. HOLY SNIKES! What a difference in the triceps! There is so much more load on them, and I was starting to struggle with keeping the bar balanced. I looked stupid doing it in a rack, but I don't trust myself without anything there to keep the weights from falling on me. I could care less if i looked stupid. I care more about me than my ego!

But man, was I adding on the weight to the EZbar for my curls today! Holy cow!Smile

Ok, maybe its the timing of my meal (about 2 hours before workout), but seems like tonight, after I did squats, my stomach felt queasy and I thought I was going to HURL! I felt like that throughout my whole workout after that tonight. I couldn't even down my post shake! I came home (took about 20 minutes from gym), waited another 20 minutes, and I started to feel a little better. I downed my protein shake and some gatorade, and then I started to eat and felt like i really was going to hurl again! I think it might have had something to do with my meal before my workout. For reasons beyond my control, I couldn't cook anything at home, so I went out to eat. Stupid me decides not to go to subway and decides to have a cheat meal. I went fast food, and I know I ate too much, but man, I don't think I can handle greasy stuff anymore. Threw my stomach all off!SmileSmile

It kinda sucks because of my medical condition, I can't possibly hurl. If I do, you might as well tag my big toe and send me to the BIG sleep! It really sucks when I really do have to and I just gag/dry heave for like 2 days straight. I think I might have the world's best abs underneath this flab because of that...LOL. I just hope I didn't catch food poisoning or something...that would SUCK!

Man, I'll never look at greasy food the same way again!

I might just be the most idiotic person alive! I figured out why I was feeling "sick" I just started drinking Moutain Dew before my workouts to get that boost of energy (not to mention to help me stay awake). I was drinking 1 can about 1-2 hours before. The last 2 days I forgot, and drank some right before I went to the gym. Something must not agree with me when I workout and drink anything but a shake and water immediately before my workout! Right now my stomach is queasy, but I'm starving. but it feels like I won't be able to hold it down. I don't get this! LOL

If your looking for a sugar boost, Instead of drinking a junky soft drink before the gym, you should have some fruit or something. Much better for you Smile

Actually, I am doing it more for the increase in energy. Fruit doesn't seem to do that to me. I might try a caffeine pill instead or Red Bull. Caffeine is a more natural approach tho, if you can call it that.

Weight: 226.5 lbs
Bodyfat: 19%
LBM: 183.47 lbs

I have gained almost 12lbs of muscle in 7 weeks My only problem is that I need to loose more fat. I need to get more cardio. By doing cardio 4 days a week I should be able to stem some the fat gain and get my bf% down. I only need to loose 3% more to meet my goal by April 4th. I've been stuck at 19% for 4 weeks tho. Feb. sucked for eating because it seemed like every week there was something creating a cheat meal/day. Every time I tried to recover from it, I lasted for a couple of days and then something else came up. I have almost nothing going on in March, so if I can stay on track for the whole week and limit my cheat time to Saturday nights when I'm with my buddies, then I'll be fine.

We'll see what GVT brings to me too. Even tho I had gains in every area, even my arms gained at least .5", I need a change. I'm sure this week I'll gain some weight because I am taking a week off from lifting. But I might do cardio and see how it goes.

If I can keep this pace up of gaining almost 2lbs of muscle a week on average, I should be up to close to 197lbs of LBM by my goal date of April 4th. If I could stay the same weight I am now that would be even better, but I know I'll probably be close to 235 lbs when it's all said and done if i want to be up near the 200 lbs lbm weight. That will put me close to 15% bf, right where I would like to be. This is a very realistic possiblity!

phooey.....Smile

I friggin ate like sh!t this week and it showed. It wouldn't have been a bad rest week if it weren't for that. I lost 4 lbs of muscle and gained 2 lbs of fat for a loss of 2 lbs this week. My goal is to flip that for this next week. 2 lbs of muscle gained, 4 lbs of fat lost. I'm gonna go cardio-crazy for the next 7 weeks! I AM SICK OF THIS GUT! SmileSmile
