200lbs 80 times would be more impressive, is that really one of your true goals or are you mocking the people who post silly statistics?

well i wish you good luck, you'll need it, 200lbs can be benched easy by a lot of people it seems, but 80 times? That 200lbs after 20 reps is gonna start feeling like 250lbs
After 50 reps, a good 350lbs, at nearly 80 reps, itl feel like 450lbs.

That is some sick endurance you gotta get, or are you having rest gaps between it?
Like 8 sets of 10 at 200lbs?

Or the whole hog 80 reps in one go?

In the grand scheme of things 200lbs isnt that heavy for some benchers, but like i said, after 20 odd reps, that 200lbs is going to feel like 300lbs odd.

My max is around 132lbs right now, i did it 3 times today but i like to take off a few lbs of my max because my bench strength is erratic and changes easily.

But im sure id get tired benching half my max within 50 reps.

so if he wants t do 80 reps at 200lbs, hes gonna have to max bench 600lbs odd.

which is pretty damn impressive.

you wont get in trouble

I bad mouth all the time and never do.

Feel free to voice your opinion-it is a very farfetched goal...and personally impossible...I wish to train for endurance and want to be elite and even 200lbs for 50 reps sounds impossible to me

I think even in this thread it stated how someone beat a world record benching 225lbs 48 times, and 25lbs extra isnt much, so to bench 200lbs 80 times is not only beating a world record-its totally annihilating the old one, good luck to him, but personally the only way i can see him doing it is through freak genetics or steroids.

The best he will get from this goal is brilliant endurance-sure he might not hit 80, but he'll hit a good 20 maybe 30 trying, and that is by no means pathetic.
Thats bloody impressive.
Even people who bench 400lbs for reps would find 200lbs for 20-30 reps hard, because theyre not used to it, endurance is underestimated, people know they lift loads more, and think "yeah only 20 more reps, and its half what i usually lift" and by rep 15 theyre thinking "ahhh ****"

Fair enough.

Is your sig right?

you said you was 5'9" at 135lbs 25% BF

which means you only had just over 100lbs lean weight, which even for 5'9" is bloody tiny...

If you want to increase your reps for 225 then you need to work up to it. So, this is what is going to give you endurance and everything else. You need to focus on your triceps and work them the same as u do your bench. So, here is a routine for your goal...

Bench 1x5 (135), 4x10 (215)
Incline 4x10 (130)
Triceps 4x10 (65)
Triceps 4x10 (65)

Find two different exercises for your triceps. It took all of my senior year for me to be exercising with 225. This is what I was at by the end of my senior year.

Bench 2x10 (205) 2x8 (225)

Your pretty strong to be able to lift 225 so many times. Now I set your bench weight lower than 225 but that is because you have to work up to it. You cant just all of a sudden do 225 that is going to get you hurt. and if you have a year to do this then you will easily become strong enough to do it. I just got to say though I know of one person who could lift 225 and he did it in sets and reps of 5x10. This guy is amazingly strong though. But anyways try this workout. Find other things to go with it but if you want to get to your bench this is what you should do. As long as you got the time and the patience you will reach your goal.

yeah i definatly think theres a huge chance of me being world's strongest man in a couple of years. This is my target that creatine has added at least 10 pounds of muscle to me in 4 days and my squat has risen by 50 pounds in one week. Over the last couple of months my biceps have also swelled up to 8.75689 inches. im busting all the arm holes in my shirts. people even call me grass snake arms dunno why. im guessing they have a huge girth or somat and must be rather dangerous and deadly. anyway im buying some of that whey steroid powder sounds good. anything that will help me become the ultimate worlds strongest man. i am the NEXT BIG THING remmebr my name boys!
p.s
just gonna do some heavy lat raises usually i do 20kgs 78 times. Smile

what im worried about is the 25% bodyfat AT 135lbs

Because that means you had just 100lbs lean body mass, which for 5'9" is seriously ill, 135lbs is quite light for 5'9", but for someone to weigh so little, but have so much fat....thats a weird bodytype you have there.

I can bench 225 around 0.5 times, as I can only bench 120  max.

yea, I have been mostly in football latley, and my team is currently 4-0. However I have still been able to weightlift, I'm roughly 6'1 1/2 now, at my last max testing I benched 405, Squat 540, Power Clean 320 and dead lift roughly 560's. As a reminder these weights are all calculated based off Notre Dame's weight lifting system of five repitions. I'm not sure what my future in football holds however I was All-Conference last year a sophomore at right guard, and my team went on to the WIAA State Finals last year and are expected to return again. Seeing the fact that I am not 6'4 which is generally the ideal height of a Divison 1 football player, I am looking towards strongman competitions. What are your thoughts on this??
