yea all i can say about protein drinks is this DONT GET CYTOSPORT WHEY! the protein is not bad protein matter fact it is very good but the reason is why i will never buy it again is becuase of the amount of protein per serving there is only 18 grams of protein per serving mixed with 4 oz of water. So if you are a guy that weights 200 pounds like my self you need to drink atleast 100 grams of this stuff (5 servings) and this stuff taste like crap im sitting here right now drinking it and i just wonted to let everyone know not to get it. right now i am drinking the vanillia bean flavor...Its nasty it tastes like bad bannans and i do not like bannans so its like drinking 5 old bannans blended with water...have fun

Protein helps a LOT. I had great results when I was scarfing down 50g IsoPure packets at least once a day.

as long as you're dieting right... protein drinks don't play the greatest role in muscle building. But if you need to get an extra meal or two a day, protein shakes are crucial to satisfy the body's protein needs.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from GNC. Their products aren't that good and damn are their supplements expensive. I suggest shopping for protein and other supplements at www.massnutrition.com I suggest Optimum 100% Whey. Or if you want something with more protein and a little bit of creatine, then what you want is Muscle Milk. I myself use Optimum whey and BSN Cellmass. Cellmass contains CEE, a new type of creatine which isn't found naturally in the human body, unlike monohydrate. It it very potent and very powerful.

I have a GNC Gold Member card, we get good discounts with that, and on the first week of every month, GNC puts out even more discounts (I think 10-15%) I got my muscle milk (2.48lb tub) from their store, ended up being around $21 and no shipping fees. You can find them around the net for like $19-$20 but then they get you with $6-$9 of shipping so I think I'm getting a pretty good deal. (not sure how much the membership is tho; it's my dad's for his vitamins)

I used to have a Gold Card myself. But even with the Gold Card, it's still cheaper else where. Plus it's a pain in the ass to only be able to buy supplements at the first week of the month. And on top of that you have to pay for the card. GNC is a waste of my time. There is a GNC around the corner of my house but I go to this place called Lindberg which is 20 minutes from my house and I save a bundle. Everything there is 20 - 50% cheaper than GNC.

What is the difference between Whey protein Isolate and normal whey protein. Is it worth getting the Isolate if you have loads of money.

Protien shakes aren't going to make you ronnie coleman from drinking them. They'll help a little, are you going to notice size differences from just working out, and working out and drinking protien shakes? Probably not. "They" say you need 1g of protien for every pound you weigh. I weigh about 170lbs right now, do i need 170lbs of protien? Probably not. But I still take them... spend my money on them, it's just relaxing to me to say "hmm... well here are 20g of protien in this shake that my body doesn't have" so i drink it... thinking my body is going to recover faster. Does it recover faster from this shake vs not drinking it... probably not.
