New fav. Snack!? - Monday, June 16, 2008 5:43 PM
today in the super market on my walk home from the gym i was pickin up a few grocerys and i saw "greek yogurt" its low fat and made by chobani. This stuf is so good! its a little pricey but its worth it. the only thing im not sure about is if i can substitute this for cottege cheese at night? Im kinda geting sick of cottege cheese and this seems like the same thing just taste better. Here are the nutrition facts.. 1 container... 130 cals 30 from fat , 2g sat, 7g carb, 17g Protein! .... Its cultured milk just like cottege cheeese so whats the difference?!? Any input would be great!

i went in to the grocery store and found some greek yogurt. it's alittle different than the one you got. it's made by oikin or something weird like that.  it has 0 fat, 8 g of sugar, and 22 g of protein.........

it tasted HORRIBLE haha.

i'll look for that stuff you got though.  for now, i'll just stick to my cottage cheese. i love that stuff

Greek yogurt is incredible.  I get Fage 2%.  The best thing to do is to put some stevia, dash of cinnamon and some room temp. natural pb and stir until mixed....serisouly orgasmic.  You could also put in some raw unheated unfiltered honey intstead of the stevia which is even better, but hard to find.  I have been eating it instead of cottage cheese for over a month now

It's censored cause it says f--a--g. Yeah greek yogurt is nothing special IMO. I've had it before but I would just as soon eat cottage cheese. I like to put cinnamon in the cottage cheese and it makes for a good snack.

One more fun thing to do with the Greek yougurt, is to add some Fresh cilantro, lemon or lime juice, tiniest pinch of salt, top burritos, or any othe Mexican type dish, and basically use as substitute for sour cream. great on yams and the like as well, especially if you ad dill, or chives.

Ehh.  Ever since I tried to make this salsa recipe a couple years ago and used WAY too much cilantro, I havn't touched it since.  I can't even smell it.  That sounds good sans cilantro though, I would add paprika instead
