This is an interesting topic. I usually don't comment in the Supplements section, but here's my take on this, not a complete one, but it's a take. What is "natural" when it comes to bodybuilding? Granted, most of the time we assume the person is steroid-free. But has a "natural" bodybuilder taken ANY supplements to enhance muscle growth? Creatine? Protein? Yes, they occur naturally and you can get them from food sources, but testosterone occurs naturally in the human body. None of these "safe" and "unsafe" supplements have really been researched long enough to know whether they are safe or not. You take a risk taking in extra protein and creatine. Unfortunately, we won't know what the TRUE effects are for quite some time, if at all. The same thing with steroids, ephedera, PH's, etc. They were banned, and now the labs will never tell us what the true effects are, if any. I'm not saying there aren't any side effects in these products, but take a look at the pharmacutical industry, regulated by the FDA. For YEARS people were taking products they believed to be safe, and they were even tested as safe. Now there are lawsuits and companies pulling product because the side effects were worse than thought to be. Getting back to "natural", with all this in mind, NO ONE who takes a supplement or prescription is "natural". You are supplementing what your body either can't provide, or doesn't provide enough of, or provides too much of. All of these supplements are aimed at changing our bodies to do what we want our bodies to do. Given that steroids and PH's seem to provide an overall bigger short-term response, they are singled out as being "unnatural." In reality, the "natural" events should be called steroid-free events. Just my $0.02 on this topic, not really giving any information that anyone cars about or that pertains to anyone in this thread.

That's probably the best explanation of natural vs. un-natural. And I've seen that debate on this forum and others numerous times.

I'm a new member and in reading this article I have come across the name Jeff McCarley. He is listed as deceased. Do you have any further info on this? Shocked, Chris
