Ya, you don't want to lock your knees when just standing around. That could be a bad idea. It hurts me when I do that too.

apparently i've been doing it without thinking. that's changing though. i'm making an effort to quit that

I'm only 26, and I feel like I'm 25 1/2. My knees have been bad since I was 10, so it has nothing to do with age. You fartknockers.

have you guys ever done one of those "body age" tests? where they see how old your body is compared to your real age? back when i was 23.. they said after all the strength and flexibility and other tests that i had the body of a 20 year old.

even though I show-up and compete in the local strongman contests I really don't do it to win anything, I only do it to have a good workout, plus I like to see some people I've met doing this stuff. I only prepare myself in training so I won't get an injury, not to be the best. I also love the training, and yes it's a perfect way for me to end a hard day, actually I'm ready for the family chores after a pr session. I don't care about impressing people in a gym or whatever, but I'd like to continue this stuff even when I'm an old man, (60+ in age). I like labor, (I'm not a fan of computers and college) I believe I can be a laborer at those ages and train like this, I'd like to "show" that, I mean even the guys who are bodybuilders all say it's too tough to do labor at an old age. in my mind the "training" protects me from the stress of "labor". I don't get caught up in the 2hours sessions though, there was a time I liked it that much, and when other priorities get in the way, it got stressful not being able to train as much as I wanted, I'm very glad I've overcome that way of thinking.

Good post Luke. Ya, I don't really mean to be there for 2 hours, but that's just what happens. I'd rather get it all done in 1 hour or less. I only do 4 different lifts per workout with a few sets of ab work at the end. That ends up taking me 2 hours, lol. Just the squats take about 30 - 45 minutes. Whatever though, I still love it. I take as long as necessary to finish my workout.
