Yeah, the town guy at the top of the screen lights up and will say something like "A trade fleet from Foobartown has arrived to purchase 300 marble at 50 gold" or some such. It all happens automatically.

Ugggggh i need marble and crystal glass nd despite sitting next to 2 islands with marble, and 2 islands with crystal glass, none of the bastards are selling any so im sitting here with just wood and wine and i cant upgrade the townhall with anymore marble Omoos [29:83] If someone sends me a tonne of marble and crystal glass i will send them enough wine to last in the taverns level 5-6 (meaning your population will grow at around 6-7 people an hour, VERY nice) for a good few days. Ive got a tonne of wine just sitting around, and no ones buying mine despite me selling it for 30 and everyone else for more, and im not selling just 50 units, im doing it in bulks of 600

No so far ive only got a 2 island radius, but still, thats about 9 islands as i can go around 2 islands from mine in a "circle" and no ones selling marble. You have a lot of wood? Hmm maybe its because i build stuff as soon as anothers finished but ive only got 250-300 pieces of wood, but most of my stuff is level 4-6 and it requires wood to get the levels up... also the saw mill of mine is only level 4...so i can only get 66 pieces an hour

Twisted, you're further from me than anybody, and I'm strapped for marble myself at the moment. I can send you some glass, though it'll be more than a day before it gets to you. The only thing I can suggest is to expand the trading port to look further for marble on sale, or to research expansion so you can start a new colony on a marble island. If you guys wanted to be closer together so we could actually work together, you could plant your first new colonies near one of my cities, move your capital there, then abandon your old colonies (once you've moved your capital, there's acutually an "abandon colony" button in the town hall.) I'd move, but I've got 3 cities established with weeks of play invested. Wesiios[46:11] > Procyon Smodios[43:8] > Spathiwa Poeyyios[43:13] > δ Vulpeculae

2m 27 secs until my palace is built, i would colonise near you jheft, but in order to do so i need marble and glass etc to move haha, but no matter, il keep upgrading the trading post and eventually someone will be selling some, and because im just sitting making money il be able to buy a lot, no ones buying my wine still and its real cheap, damn them all!

Once you've got a palace, all you need is some wood, money and free citizens to move. Seriously though, if anybody wants to move, I can supply you with wine and glass (within reason) until you get on your feet. Oh - your research and your gold are both shared between all your colonies, so you won't lose any of that if you move.

I noticed a ship coming from you, cheers man! still no marble or glass and i cant expand my trading post because i have no marble lol. Id be fine if some was being sold lol, as soon as i get these resources im going to colonise a marble quarry island anyway so i should be fine on my own as long as the level 15+ big players dont pwn me for being on there money munching island, though i doubt they do it for gold etc as none are selling and im right next to them.

The capital gets a bonus in terms of the population's happiness. You also can't abandon your capital, which is why you'd have to move it first if you wanted to start over in a new part of the world and abandon your first city. Seriously though, I can't keep tying up my boats sending them half-way across the world like this. This morning somebody put 7500 wood on sale for just 5 gold per log, which is like 1/4 of what you'd normally pay, but I had too many of my boats tied up for me to be able to snap up the offer before anyone else did, and buying new boats costs me 28k a pop at this point. If you want to move, now is the time to do it before you get too much sunk cost in your current location.

Sunk cost just means the amount of time/resources you've invested in your current situation.
