Probably Duchess, she's a power metal singer so she obviously fights dirty, and isn't against using unorthadox tactics (titty twisters, etc.).

As for you, well, I'll just cover myself in oil and slip right through ya fingaz.

this has nothing to with insecurities and everything to do with the annoying and unnecessary jokes that you make on a regular basis.  Is that what gets people going in reston VA??? Come around here talkin like that and see how long it lasts

So people in Pittsburgh never rip on each other for the hell of it? Half of the friendships I know of are built primarily on that. It's friendly and playful humour man, lighten up.

Vegeep makes a point. If you go on Fark or SomethingAwful's forums and say "I'm drunk" in any manner of speaking your account gets suspended because 99% of the time it's people faking drunkeness/being stoned for some inane grasp at internet popularity.

people rip on eachtoher all the time, but not so much when theyve never spoken directly to that person in their life.  I dont even know veg at all.  And sure he said it wasnt aimed at me at all so maybe i overreacted a bit but it started as just a joke until he got all defensive and started saying i was insecure and what not.

obviously you are insecure if you got all defensive

Maybe we're all overreacting -myself included. I'm not going to get myself worked up over a few ruffled feathers. This is the Internet. At the end of the day, nobody knows anybody so personally that it's ever going to be 100% safe to "rip on them", and someone will always take offense at something. On the other hand, we are all here because we share at least one thing in common: our interest in the subject of diet, exercise, and personal physical improvement. I should hope that's enough commonality for us to base a loose camaraderie on.

If we all sat around editing ourselves to the point of trying not to step on anyone's toes, it would be a very boring place. That's not to say I'm a glutton for mischief. In cyberspace, you are judged by the percentage of people in any given community that you piss off consistently, and on that metric alone, I think it's safe to say I'm a pretty likable guy here.

I'm here to help fellow ecto's and self-decribed "hard gainers" realize that getting in shape and looking great is within anyone's reach. I do that with equal parts humility and self-deprecation, ****iness, and occasional pot-shot sarcasm -but you'll be hard-pressed to find me dishing out more than I'd be willing to have directed at me. While it may be the first reaction of someone who takes issue with me to assume that I don't contribute anything of value to this group (just because they personally have a problem with my tone), I think my record of constructive criticism, encouragement, and general good will toward others here is well documented by now.

And also, to say that you don't know anything about veg...He has been here since 2005 (actually I just realized I've been here longer than him :P) and he's already gone through the "let everyone get to know me stage". He went awhile for awhile and has made a comeback, but there is no need to start over again as a "new" member. He just went right back into his ways around here and I'm thinking that threw some people off a little bit...

Funny you should discredit that bit about blaming hostility on the weather -they do it all the time in California. People have actually used prolonged Santa Anna winds as a defense for violent crimes in court. Not sure how often it happens, but can you imagine the audacity? "How do you plead?"

The sad part is that one guy who robbed the 68 year old women got away with it and his defense was on those winds.

It's a fair observation. Yes, part of my post-processing involves punching up local contrast with a modest amount of dodging and burning. That's just because I seldom get the kind of saturation or luminance feel that I want out of my camera. Almost no photographer does. On my own photos, I get the most impact from punching up highlights -it has the same net effect as deepening the shadows, but the former enhances skin-tones, while the latter just makes the picture look dirty. Last, but certainly not least, one always gains a degree of improvement in the image reduction phase. That tends to make cuts look at least 10% sharper than they really are. I've attached the original (The two black bars are light stands that I use to tell when I'm in frame Smile)

Where I draw the line is outright morphing. Yes, I have morphed some of my own pics (like the ones I did for SoccerKing3000 and David1991) for my own sh1ts and grins, but I don't post them on DBB, 'cause it's not enough for me to get complements on pictures of my progress -it has to be real progress.

What the hell is a Turkish baptist?

Here's the present, horrible state of things.

And yes, 16 pounds was pretty much 80% of the progress I'd made since August '05. It looks to me like I lost most of it in upper body mass and definition, cause my quads didn't completely vaporize. Back in '05, I looked like Calista Freakin' Flockhardt!
