If you have access to something to pull up your bodyweight and/or dip then sure. When i'm on hliday, i tend to use children's playgrounds that have climbing frames and such. If not, get yourself a skipping rope and move between push-ups, sit-ups, star-jumps, pull-ups (if you can), skipping and short sprints. It's summer too, so bike rides can be nice.

6/30/05 12:30am thanks! i've been playing a lot of softball too. almost everyday. softball is pretty slow but i like to play in center field during batting practice so i can run all over the place to catch the ball and launch it back in. that's really the only fun part b/c baseball is rather boring. i've been doing pushups and such no climbing frames around but i'm trying to make friends with this girl so she'll take me to the gym with her on her card.lol. but i like her too don't worry i'm not just using her to work out.haha. today 2 hours softball =)

does working 100 hours a week count as a workout, if both jobs require walking around the entire time?

Actually working 100 hours a week is borderline insane. Heck there's only 168 hours in a week TOTAL. take out 56 for sleep and you've got a whole 12 hours a week for everything else. Definately not healthy. Hope this doesn't continue. Paul

ORIGINAL: Robboe quote:
ORIGINAL: rippedchick i'm going to try (try being the key word) twin peak's carb cycling diet. i'm considering yesterday a high day b/c i ate really badly and ate like 2223 cals. today is a low day then and so far i'm doing alright. the fact that the carb diet is actually based on protein is helping me choose foods. i figured 8 weeks is enough time to get in shape but i'm not sure what to do. it made me really happy that in his diet he said that cardio sux, b/c i hate running, though i'll keep dancing and that's cardio. I hope the diet alone will help me slim down a touch. it's not like i need to lose weight or anything, i don't have an eating disorder. i was paging through my victoria's secret catalogue last night and when looking in the mirror realized that i look like them (but 5'6" size 2 instead of 5'10" size 2) except my bis are bigger and my shoulders look a bit broader because of my delts and my abs are more defined. i'd like to stay like that. i don't want to look like a fitness model chick. i don't really like all the muscle. well i'm just going to keep trying with this whole diet thing though i'm still scared to go back in the gym. i suppose i'll try tomorrow and maybe lower the weight and raise the reps. Twin Peak is anti-cardio, but i am very much "pro-activity". No matter what it is, just try and move more. Dancing sounds like an awesome form of activity. Get the ehart rate up a bit, get the blood flowing etc... It all helps with partitioning any calories you consume more towards muscle and away from fat. Can even help take calories away from fat cells for metabolism. I know you're paranoid about becoming a "fitness chick", but bear in mind a lot of the tops fitness models still mess with mild androgen drugs like anavar in order to build muscle and get a hard look about their physique. At 17 and just lifting for fun, you really have no worries about getting big cause it ain't gonna happen. Just enjoy yourself. First, lets be clear. I am not "anti-cardio". I am anti cardio as a fat loss technique when your primary goal is to be as big and muscular and ripped as possible. If that is your goal, diet is the key. And you should be saving your activity for weight lifting, period. Second, let me underscore what Rob said: 1) There is not way in hell that you will become too muscular. 2) If I am wrong about (1) and you are a genetic superwoman, it will still not happen overnight, and all you will need do is cut back some on the weights.

100 hour work week isn't so bad, my dad used to do it all the time, but then they told him he wasn't allowed to work more than 16 hours straight because apparently you become unsafe... but he was doing 18-20 hours a night 5 days a week
