take it. as long as you're drinking enough water it can't hurt.

im 17

i have started training since i was 14, then stopped at around 15 or so. didnt train again til i got a weight bench which was last summer so basically i have been training for about a year with a few breaks b/c of me being punished for a while..

i want to see if i can get improvement. i look at myself and cant see improvement but 'some' of my friends tell me im gettin skinny. i just dont see it. it is not like creatine is a magical potion that i can get big quick but i just want to see if i can get any improvements at all by using it.

go for it dude, you really have nothing to lose. just get straight up creatine mono from vitamin shoppe. its the best to start out with, then experiment with others. btw, you were punished to not work out?? thats a twisted punishemnt!

This is just my opinion and I'm sure almost everyone here will disagree.. but Since you're only 17 years old.. been working out a short period of time... you are no where near a slowing down point and if you're training right and have a good diet in place.. you should still be making both strength and size gains.  I have  nothing against Creatine and think it's probably one of the best.. if not the absolute best supplement a person can take.. However... if it's not needed.. why take it?   Same with protein.. If you're getting all your protein from natural foods, it's moreless a waste to go and pay $35 for a tub of powder....

I'm not saying you or anyone else is doing this.. but working out and gaining mass is hard..and it takes years and years of dedication and training, not only in the weight room but in the kitchen to achieve what most would consider.. very little... Wait until you need the creatine and don't prematurely jump the gun just because of what someone else thinks or says...

now with that said.. if you do decide to take creatine.. go with the Bodyfortress mono.. it's cheap and it works just as well as all the other more expensive brands..

thanks for the info man. your a big help. its not what someone else says, its what i say, i think i need it.

most people think i am not doing anything. think i am just a lil fat kid, but what they fail to realize is that i have more determination in one finger than the have in their whole body.

i just want to step it up a notch and see what happens. if it cant hurt me, then i think i will go for it.

i found this stuff. its a couple dollars more than the creatine trigg told me to look into but there is more servings and it looks to be a better brand. i have heard good things bout dymatize before.

I take the cheapo walmart creatine and it works great and has no taste at all. Body Fortress Pure Creatine. I really think that anything other than creatine mono is a waste of money.

Agreed.

Swole as far as taste goes, take a tbsp and just dump it in your mouth and wash it down with water.  It's a lot easier to take that way.

Get the Wal-Mart brand.  It's like 5 bucks and the same quality as the $40 creatine.

If you're going to get mono at least get the micronized one.

Oh sorry for not replying to you guys. I compltely missed this thread over and over again somehow. So I don't get it. I gained 4 pounds, which I assume some of which is from the water retention from the creatine. I have been taking creatine for the two weeks that I was talking about. Those were my first two weeks taking it and for the first week I took 2-4 5 gram servings a day and a 10 gram serving right before my workout. After that, I should have had creatine levels shoot up. As for the water, no sir. I drink 4 500mL bottles of water in the first 6 hours of my day (at school) and at home, fill those up 6-8 more times and drink those along with other liquids such as milk and juice. Also I eat lots of fruit and veggies which have a high water content. In just water alone, I have 1 gallon - 1 gallon and a half a day. That is by no means near being dehydrated. Not to mention I leave basically every class to use the bathroom hahahahaha
