I think what happens a lot is.. people just starting out in weight training buy muscle magazines, surf the net and land on these sites that show these huge monsters, that are obviously swimming in anabolic steroid looking all happy holding a muscle milk drink... LOL.... So.. after seeing these ads time and time again, it's only natural to start actually believing that you have to use these magical formulas.. like whey, creatine, etc.. in order to gain more muscle.. Especially after you've trained for 6 months and seen little physical change... What most people are never told, and anyone on this site who has trained for any period of time can confirm is... Building muscle is hard... You can work your ass off for a year and when it really comes down to it.. all those hours and hours of hard work only render small semi noticeable results.... If it was as easy as driving to GNC spending $100 on supps and working out a few hours a week... 99% of the population would be walking around ripped... but unfortunately it's not that easy... Is a steak better than a protein shake??? Hmmmm depends.. No single factor like a steak or a protein shake is going to determine how well you respond to diet.. If your diet is well balanced and planned out, and you give your body all the nutrients it needs throughout the rest of the day....... then IMO a lean steak is better.. it might not rush protein to your deprived muscle tissue like the supplement companies claim protein does but it has lots of other benefits that only eating real food can give.... Supplements are simply what they are... Supplements.. If you're body is not getting what it needs from a natural diet, then supplements can be of help. But they are by no means the magical cure all formula for gaining muscle and being healthy....

ORIGINAL: mattsuzuki16 You're 136lbs, so I would not question such things, learn and grow my friend, learn and grow........and listen to marc david @ 5'4 as he said with a target of 150-160. From teh avatar I wouldnt trade my physique for yours so you really dont have anything to stand on trying to sling insults bc you are 6'2 and weigh alot more, as you should. Im not a friend either nor does this have anything to do with marc, I think you have something to learn about what bodyweight is to different people of differing heights, pretty basic to me.

Supplements are much different than steroids in my opinion. Supps only offer what our body's are deficient of in order to reach a certain goal. You take medicine when you are sick because it helps your body do something it can't on it's own, a girls wears make-up accentuate the face she already has. Steriods which make the body do outrageous things that are beyond normal are different. To each his own I suppose....

I think both are a good choice, it just depends on your timing. A shake IMMEDIATELY after your workout..i mean like, bring a shaker bottle with protein powder in there and fill it up at the water fountain after working out then down it. Then about 1 to 1.5 hours later eat that lean steak with a whole grain carb and some veggies. Any thoughts, comments, opinions?

Prohormones, roids, they all come with a price. if you want to sacrifice health for muscles its all up to the user, u dont cheat anyone but yourself in the end.

Person #1 would be stronger and bigger than the guy who took creatine. Supplements are just that, supplements they dont have a huge impact. Now if you are tkaing PH or steroids thats a COMPLETELY different story

I dont mean to condone PH's, but the fact of the matter is there is a big give and take and its a big decision to make. I have seen my bodyweight go up 25lbs in my first 6 months of serious lifting....then basically plateau for the last 6 months. The PH is really making me feel like a beast in the gym, the pumps are better than ever, and im already going up in weight again, something I havent seen in half a year now. But what i DO know it its bad for my liver...im going to run pct and go with nothing after this for awhile. Unless ur competing, its not cheating anyone other than yourself, in which case ur tested anyway.

Most people use supplements like whey and creatine simply because they're not able or have the will power to supplement their body with proper nutrition... If you're feeding your body the absolute best way, there's really no need for either...

Thats the only reason I didnt. Im in my first week and to my suprise I havent experienced any noticeable sides like headaches or loss of libedo. Methyl-1-D absolutly shut off my libedo, it was awful...so I was preparing for something like that with havoc but the only effects by day 5 are: I lift heavier weights I have more engergy Im gaining weight & eating more Needless to say, im blown away and ordered 2 more bottles since its been discontinued. The only odd thing that happened is I seem to **** less, and I know when I first got on it I didnt **** for a couple days....I wonder if it works to get more out of the food you eat?

Supplements, the word itself tells what it is, its not a replacement to natural food, its a way to have good components you already find in food to help you, while you don't get the calories that the food gives you. Protein shake and Creatine are not cheating but imho, steroids are, since you can't get to where it brings you without it. But i don't think cheating your body is bad since its your own decision.
