That would not work at my gym......unless your a guy, the owners are 2 gay guys, although....I do get free gym access as a trainer and athlete so maybe there is an inkling there .................NAH they are just being nice. Best and most affordable gym in town though and they turned it around from being THE most notorious roid gym in town to a nice community gym. It looks okay, not flashy or super lit up, old fans, underground but all our local stars come there to train due to the atmosphere. It used to be the gym where all the pros would come train when in town. We don't get pros out here anymore. We used to back on the arny days, 70s etc, he even used this gym too!! Its the last gym in town where you are allowed to use chalk, its made for heavy lifters but our new roid gyms now are Golds on Lougheed, World gym on Lougheed and at one point sport central in RMD which is a huge asian hub, the city is mainly Asian in Richmond now which is likwe 20 mins away from me over a bridge more or less. Anyway, off to train my clients......have a great day ladies~ Linda

thehardway They're just called adjustable squat stands, I think the brand may be called unique. York make a similar product but they look pretty flimsy. All the free standing racks are missing the safety catches though, I wouldn't want to spill out of a heavy squat with these...

ORIGINAL: jheft I agree they looks scary... With a power rack, if you're totally blown at the end of a set of squats, you can just step forward 'till you hit the uprights and set the weight down safely. With these you're going to have to focus on lining up both sides at once and setting it down without tipping them over and being killed. *phear* Now, I know you've been squatting by cleaning dumbbells to your shoulders, and one time you managed to just about kill yourself doing that... So maybe this is an improvement. But I cannot overstate the value of a power rack. I mean, maybe you can get rid of your bed or a table or boyfriend or something to make space? Her boyfriend is her squat rack now.

i got everything put up and together guys. i just need to take pics of it. it is awesome. set my parents back around $650. the store also sold shoes so my mom bought me one pair and i bought myself another pair. i wanted to try some gum they had, it is quench gum. it is suppose to have alot of juice in it so it quenches your thirst. i picked 2 of them, i wanted to pay for it but they wouldnt let me. then one of the girls said, "you just spent $737.00 over here." then i said, "so!" then she tells me to have a happy easter, then i left.
