Sorry it was in the wrong section dude, my brother was squeezing me off the chair so I didn't get a chance to check where I was. Cheers for the advice, it makes sense. I'll post this again in the training section, cause your right, I noticed today when looking in the mirror that my legs are defined, but quite skinny in comparison to the rest of my body. It makes sense to work out the lower half, as that supports my entire body. Thanks for the advice man, I like this forum! Smile

My name is Ben. I'm 25 and looking for a way to get my body in shape. I sit at a computer all day and don't have a whole lot of time or money to put into excercising but feel like I and my wife need to start somewhere.

Hi Ben.

You don't need a whole lot of time or money to become fit.

All you need is the dedication to put aside 30 minutes about 3-4x a week. Nothing hardcore. But routine like. And to have a healty diet. This does not mean 1) no food 2) salads for every meal

The people that cannot get fit are the ones who simply won't dedicate any time to exercise. No amount of money or time will matter if you just don't make the time to do it. So this quest, isn't about either. You just have to find something you like and do it. Go on hikes 3-4x a week, 30 minutes, nothing hard. Just to get into a routine of exercise.

What do you do for lunch?? Start bringing your lunch and use your lunch hour or a portion of it to exercise, even if it's just going for a walk.

Mark T. here, of course new to this forum...

I'm anxious to get back into bodybuilding after a number of years of slacking, slacking not by choice, but because of:

1. Tight finances (no $$$ for proper eating and weightlifting equipment or gym memberships).

2. Long-term extreme aerobic excercise activity (too much bicycling when I didn't have a vehicle, two years as a commercial hiking and backpacking guide in Grand Canyon National park, routinely hiking 10-18 miles a day usually with a 50-80 lb. pack in 100+ degree heat).

3. Because of other work/time constraints resulting in eating a lot of fast food and other crap.

4. A sugar "addiction".

I'm 5'6" tall and have only weighed about 120 lbs. most of my life prior to and after my weightlifting efforts, due to a high motabolism, years of poor eating habits, and when I get stressed-out I lose my appetite. Even when I've had success working out I've always been a very hard gainer. The best I've been able to do is get up to about 128 lbs. lean, no fat. So far, weight gain shakes have done nothing more than give me a "spare tire" and nothing else on my otherwise skinny frame. I have had good results with amino acids and free weights for my upper body, but have a harder time getting lower body results I.E. legs.

So now I've cut out sweets from my diet; working on eating 3-5 square meals a day; and avoiding frozen or heavily processed foods, instead eating fresh meats, dairy, veggies and fruits, as well as taking vitamins. Recently dislocated my collarbone in a motorcycle mishap so just concentrating on nutrition until I heal up and can begin lifting again. Looking for advice on some good choices for amino and also carb supplements. I have "0%" body fat, and seems like I should have SOME, so right now I'm trying to gain overall body weight including a little fat.
Any advice for a hard gainer, fast metabolism, very active skinny guy would be most appreciated!!!

Hello to DB and all its members! My name is Jordan and I have been traing hard for two years. As with everything else in life I thirst for a knowledge in my hobbies that can take me to the next level, although I consider my wieght training to be much more than a hobby. When I started lifting two years ago I was 6'4" and a thin 170. Now I am a good 220. Im still bulking so there is a higher bf% than Id like to see but thats all in the territory. I have hit a plateau as of late and feel almost burned out. I found this site and along with it came that burst off enthusiasm I was looking for. Along with the wealth of knowledge on training techniques and nutrtion I think Ive found a winner! I hope to contribute all I can! Thanks for a great place for like minds to meet!

Hello everyone!

I have been reading the DB forum quite a bit and have decided to join. A little bit about my self, hmmmmm, well I'm a quitter, I start something and never carry it through to the end. Really want to change that! Have identified that as my main character flaw and want to make some changes. Now a little bit why I want to start body building. As you can tell from my nick, I'm skinny and have always been.I'm 5'11 been hovering at around the 134-135lbs range for about 4 or 5 years now. I'm almost never hungry and eat ones or twice a day. I never worked out in my life, don't know the difference between a bar or dumb bell. I'm here to learn, get in shape and WILL stick around.

Hi Guys!
Just found this great website through google. Looks like alot of great information!! I happy to be a member.
I'm 40 years old. 6 Ft 208lbs. I've been bodybuilding for about 15 years. I workout 4-5 times per week. I would like to
gain a little more weight. Maybe get up to 220. Hopefully this site will give me more info on that.

hi my names Swift Paw Im 16year old female I love working out and in corently involed in wrestling and arobics if you can belive it...anyhow despite my contant work out I still need that certain some one to push me and help guid me to understand how to be come better with my work out plans and lifting and etc..

Ive worked hard to be the top in my class but my school nor friends can tell me the things I need to know like how can I make my work out mean more how can I build more mucle mass despite most my friends being guys they cant tell me

That's part of the problem, swift- Most people don't know much about fitness, and there's a lot of crap and misinformation out there, as well as companies trying to profit from people's misunderstandings about how the body works. I've been around here for about a week now, but never introduced myself. I'm Matt, and I'm 20 years old. I work out 5 days a week, and I'm on a strict controlled diet. Since beginning training in May of this year I have lost 35 pounds, and 4 inches in my waist. I'm about 18 days off of training for 6 months. My short term goals at the moment are that I want to be able to be comfortable swimming or hanging out in the summer, not having to worry about how I look because I will be fit and in shape. I've lost my weight since I've been watching my diet, and I added the nutrition portion of my routine only 2 months ago. So the weight and waistline reductions (although helped by training) really didn't drop significantly until I added the nutrition portion. I am now highly addicted to weight training, and I count every milligram of everything I eat. My long term goals are to build more onto my large frame, I want to be able to move the weight, and have a good shape and tone. When I started in May I was topping off at 300lbs, wearing size 44in. jeans. I am now 265lbs, wearing size 40in. jeans. I've set my goals at being 225lbs by Jan. 1st which means I'd have to lose approximately 4lbs per week. If it's December 31st and I have to cut a leg off to achieve that there's going to be a bloody mess, but I'll be 225. There's nothing quite like going to the gym and shoving weight around with as much heart as you can muster. Easily the greatest feeling in the world. Oh and for training, you'll see me in the gym at 6am every morning during the week, I take Sat and Sun off.

Thank you cpl I will look around I see you guys have a teen section maby I can find some thing there so fare Im loveing this site Ive found out lots of new things now I need to find out my total body fat and work from there maby that will inporve my work out plain.

don't just look in the teen section look all over. Remember, you can get advice from anyone at anytime all you have to do is ask. We have a lot of wise experienced people on this site, I am a certified personal trainer so I know what they say isn't crap (most of it Smile ) Look everywhere on the site, there are some other females in here as well.

Hey, I'm a 22 year old male from Evansville,IN. I'm 6'4 220, and never lifted weights in my life. I just got a membership to a gym, and went out and bought this ANAVOL. My goal is to gain 30 pounds of muscle in a year ...I'd like to be 250....but i dont' know what foods to eat with the ANAVOL....some sites talk about loading...i'm not sure what to do there....on the bottle it says take 3 capsules twice a day, and if you were over 200lb you could take up to 5 capsules a day. Would that be Loading? What forum should i go to ask these questions?
