Do any of the other teens on here have trouble with they're parents? It's kinda bugging me right now. It's not so much that they don't support what I'm doing and the fitness I'm trying to acheive, it's more that they're quietly mocking me and telling me that I'll never stick to it Smile Like I started a Food and Exercise journal and they rolled they're eyes, and they pretty much laugh all the time when I work out. It's starting to wear on me and I'm sure its barely just started Smile. Sorry for the rant but it's just making me kinda sad like I can't do anything good for myself Smile

I don't talk to my parents, but if I were you I would just ignore them.  It'll be worth it to rub it in their faces when you're jacked.

Hehe yeah I try but it's hard because it seems like they're ignoring stuff  like my grocery lists and stuff, opting for what I used to eat, and thats realy hard when you're having trouble figuring out how to start out to begin with! At least I do most of my workouts at night...

Set it in your mind that you're doing this and you don't give a **** what anyone says. That's the mentality you need, come hell or high water you're gonna get jacked and anyone who gets in your way will be struck down! Get pissed!

Don't go cursing at your parents or anything lol but just keep the strong positive mentalitly and DON'T STOP.

That's right, which is why in a few weeks I'm gonna buy my own fridge, and make a grocery list and get everything I need for a good diet.  I'll probably get a power rangers lunchbox and carry food in there too.

My mother always told me that I would be very thing like my uncle he is 6'1 160lbs..  I told her I wanted to lift weights and get big and she told me "some people just are not ment to be big and muscular"  I remember what she said till this day.. I was 15 years old.. at that time I was probably 6'1 140lbs... I kept working out in the garage did not really know what I was doing... anyways im 23 years old now and im 205lbs and still growing.. Up until last year they use to say the same thing all the time.. over and over! now they feel bad about them self and want to keep up with me.. my father use to talk about how strong he was etc.. how muscular he was when he was younger.. I found his picture at 25 years old.. he is not jack and never will be jack compared to me.. in the gym he is strong but nothing but a little girl to me which is how i picture him back in his 30's too.

Let this be a lesson to you.  anyone can get big,  if you want it you won't stop. if you do stop then your a failure,  you will be a failure the rest of your life.. The only reason your parents are doubting you is most likely because you have tried to do other things in your life and you quite.. that was the case with me.. They now see you as a quiter..  So if this is your goal stick to it.

I'm still living at home while going to college and my parents can't believe how big I've gotten. My dad at his biggest was only 180 back in his 30's, he can't believe I'm approaching 200. They never really had any bad words for me mainly because I don't really discuss it with them but the grocery list was a problem for a while. Untill my mom finally decided she needed to make some changes and loose some weight herself. I've basically been her PT and I'm about tired of that ****, she has horrible commitment and just wants to make excuses for her age and whatever else.Smile pisses me off.

HAHAHA same story with me! only my dad does stick too it.. but both of them wont change their **** ass diets.

Your only 19 how old is your mother.. if she is in her 40's i would totally laugh at the age being an excuse.. the professional Bodybuilders in my gym are all about in their prime in their 40's not to mention I think ronnie coleman is in his 40's.

She's actually in her early 50's but I still think it's a cop out. I'm trying to get her started on free weights and whatnot but she just try's to gravitate towards the machines, put on plate of weight on and do 30 easy reps (she's combining 2 sets of 15 into one set of 30 somehow she says.Smile) then goes to another random machine and does the same on a totally ranom mucle group and she's done. I swear she hasn't heard a single thing I've said.

My dad eats horribly and not very often and he's so stubborn he won't listen or work out. It kinda makes me sad they won't focus on their health. At this rate due to them waiting so long to have me they won't be around to see their grandkids.Smile

my mom is 50 and I just had her doing calesthenics and it was only like a but raise... or half way pushup and she got tendonidouse... the doc was shocked how it happened.. but my mom barely eats probably 40 grams of protein in a day and 1,400 calories she worries about getting fat but its actually totally messing her up.. she cant even lift 30lbs...

My old man is a different story he is fairly strong.. Only he wont work his legs with free weights, it drives me nuts! So i guess overall body strength he is not all that strong..

Age and life style will have alot to do with it.. don't injure you mother like I did to mine.. First you want to work on her diet.

there no doubt projecting their own feelings of worthlessness onto you. tell them to stick it up there ass and use spite as your newest goal for motivation. i have parents like this too (that attack self confidence) and what you have to do is just ignore them, dont let them get to you.

Hey poison, prove them wrong, they say you cant do it? show them whos right. If you let people get you down and tell u ur not good enuf then you never will be. Trust me overcoming these w*****s will just compensate to your gains and confidence, i know that from personal experience.

Good luck and keep doin what ur doin

i don't live at home, but i still have to deal with the questions as to why (especially being female) i want to be at a low bodyfat percentage and blah blah blah, why do i wanna look like a man? unless you lift like we do, you don't get it. if i don't go to the gym, i'm really pissed off and feel really on edge all day until i hit the gym again. do it for you, because you want to. it's good for you, you know that. the grocery thing? F 'em. if you can, get a job of your own and buy your own food, put your name on it and stick in the fridge. then if they question you about it, tell them that this isn't hindering you, it's stopping you from drinking, using drugs, hanging with the wrong crowd, etc. working out is also keeping you calm at your age, keeping your mind focused so you can learn when you're in school or whatever. i just don't get why parents would ever tell their children it's "stupid" or something to work out. there are way too many obese kids out there. i'm glad to see you're taking the initiative to work out and be in shape. keep up the good work, and don't let people stand in your way.

It saddens me that in an age where govt predicts the parents will outlive the kids, that your parents are not supportive in your attempt to stay healthy and fit and stay out of trouble - if your training then you are not out doing bad stuff..........

thankfully they support me pretty good, but sometimes i get them trying to get me to weight back on by shoving food down my throat that they try and convince is healthy for me but really isnt at all. idk, it just seems like some parents dont want there children to work hard at stuff like that.

perhaps if you educate them and help them understand why your doing what your doing may help?

my advice is to use this as motivation. when youve got your six pack and 22 inch arms, rub it in your dads face. if you keep it up for years, you wont have a beerbelly like most dads.
