I'm currently doing a research on Atkin's diet. Been amazed at the numerous amounts of diseases that arise from this diet. I knew it was bad before but never that bad....
Lowcarbs result in weight loss yes but weight loss mainly from muscles and water. Soon after the diet ends, you'll find yourself putting back more weight then before because now you'll have less muscles then when u started and since muscles are the body's metabolism engine, less muscles means your body won't be able to burn off the fat efficiently. Also, Dr. Atkins suffered from obesity and heart diseases before his death so his works are quite ironic in my opinion. Also, due to lack of carbs, your body will not have enough nutrients such as potassium(from fruits , potatoes, etc.which is highly important for everyone.
Before creating a proper nutritional diet for myself i went on lowcarb lousy diets, eating about 100g of carbs only. At first, i was happy everytime i saw my weight decrease on the weighing scale. However, after getting down to a certain size i found myself looking skinnyfat

which is worse then before when i had muscles and fat. Therefore my advise is Don't Go On a LOWCARB diet!
Yes a person can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time but if you don't give yourself enough carbs, then forget about gaining muscles
