How exactly should I know if a vitamin is working? Will I wake up with a smile on my face or will my sweat take on a lemony fresh scent?

Depending on the vitamin, yes you should wake up every morning feeling great and healthy and ready to take on the day, you can get the same effect with cocaine, but I wouldnt recomend it to you since gnc doesnt sell it. As for the lemony fresh scent, I suggest you drink a few cans of pledge, that should do the trick.

Let me be clear, I've only purchased an item from GNC once. I just don't buy into the popular chant of every product sucking without some evidence.

Riight, ok so let me get this perfectly straight. You have only used one product from gnc, and yet you stand by them, when you have a whole board full of people giving you EVIDENCE through their testimonials that they suck. I have tried 3 things from gnc, and if you'll look just a tad bit closer as to what I wrote before, you will notice how I said their protein does nothing, so I'm adding bad taste, no results, and an empty wallet together... from this equation I get RIP OFF!, you on the other hand must get a hard on, I dont know how else to put it, the more we diss gnc for products that suck, the more it seems you want to go out and stand up for them. I've got more experience than you do using gnc products, so you should really try to keep those fingers of yours from touching your keyboard when trying to show me up on something I clearly know more about than you, some would even venture to say, well jeeze, you yourself have only tried 3 gnc products, what makes you so special.... I'll tell you what, the fact that I wasnt stupid enough to go waste more of my money on a chain of stores whose employees dont know **** about the products they sell, and whose products claim to do things they dont, so come back when your not such an amature alright buddy, dont call me out on this.

GoalKeeper you aren't exactly known for your advice on here to begin with.

You'd think if so many people have seen the light on the Mega Men vitamins sucking so bad that at least one person would have wanted to know why in terms of the science behind the product rather than popular opinion.

Ok, I'm sorry your feeble attempts to make me look like a fool failed, but seriously, grow up, and drop it. Maybe I'm not known for my advice to you, because you disagree with the advice I give, contrary to, well, anyone with half a brain, who realize I'm right. I wouldnt post something if I wasnt 100% sure I wasnt going to get called out on it, and if I was called out, I'd most surly win the argument (like what is happening here when I'm finnished writting this).... Hell I Dont care, I dont have to know the science behind something that I know doesnt work, and I never said that your vitimins didnt work, I said gnc products suck, I'm sure some of their products do something, but I'm also sure that someone elses products do that something ten thousand times better, its not that they dont work, its that they suck when compared to better, and often times cheaper brands. This is the last post I'm posting on this thread in refrence to you because honestly, I think this has gone on long enough. Anyone who has read this far, I hope I have influenced you to not buy gnc products, and to go any other route but that of gnc, my work here is done. Peace.

Do I write one more post? Suuuure.

You guys might say that your vitimins are working for you, thats great, I have fallen victim to the placebo effect as well, its nothing to be ashamed of.

There's the part about saying the vitamins are ineffective.

But you're right, there's no valid arguments to be had here. May as well lock the thread.

I disagree. While I don't believe any of the #'s I see in the posts, a lot of the information GK has posted has been good.
But... I've seen several posts that I have to agree with. Some harsh. Some not worded correctly but overall, I think GK has some good stuff.

His advice is based on people who want to get BIG and work really hard. But with all advice really, it's perspective comes from the person giving it. So while I don't necessarily follow a lot of it, I do believe it's correct in certain situations.

Sort of like DB's mystery person really. No pics. Nothing. But I can't say that his posts are way off. To the contrary a lot of times. They are right on.

If you have a good diet, vitamins don't do much except give you the insurance policy really. Most bodybuilders who eat right get their vitamins via food. The pills we take do little in that regard. If I quit taking a multi-vitamin daily but made sure my diet was tight, would it matter? Not really. But I don't have a tight diet. And I'm sure I don't get something on some day. So a vitamin is a good policy.

I'm not sure about that particular quote. I do believe vitamins work. That's a given. But they are a placebo if you are not vitamin deficient in any area. I guess I could read that either way but it would depend on my current situation.

Flat out, vitamins are not a placebo. But they are if you take them are not deficient and except some results of some kind.

A big % of the vitamin supplements that people put in their bodies are never taken in by the body. They simply slide right on through to the other end. Rarely do you need to supplement unless you have been diagnosed deficient(other than a daily multi). The food you eat will have plenty of what you need. Muscle building and protien wise you could supplement B6 and B12.

A word about the 1-2g per pound of bodyweight for protien.
I don't know how many of you are pro bodybuilders on the forum, for the ones that are you probably need that much. For beginners and some moderates, you shouldn't even get close to that amount.
I am 237 lbs solid. I don't consume 240g of protien a day. Thats crazy. Half that is plenty for me. I haven't shrunk. Your body takes what it needs and disposes of the rest. If some of your who are NOT pro bodybuilders are consuming 2g/lb you are not helping yourself. Eat a piece of fruit instead of that extra 8oz chicken breast. Save those calories for another day...................Smile

I agree 2g/lb seems a bit too high , my self I dont fallow any of those rules , lets say I`m doing a 40/40/20 (p/c/f) diet , I just eat whatever amount of protein I have to so I can get the 40% of my calories from it , it just depends how high my calories are.
