More info about my creatine adventures. (bear with me ) I started using creatine monohydrate from met-RX (the only brand of mono I used) December 2005. I experienced no side effects at all, I was taking one teaspoon pre and one post workout mixed with water or Gatorade, and on non-training days, one teaspoon with water before bed. I did not cycle the creatine, and took it non-stop for 4months, took a months break, and took it for 2more months before getting sick when I halted supplementation. The summer rolled around, so I took an extra month off. After the summer, I start my cutting cycle (Animal Cuts, Animal Pak, Animal Nitro) and after that, I started my bulk using SAN Vault, NO-Xplode and Nitrix. After I ran out of Vault, I got Cellmass and loved it. Best creatine I have used, muscles really became fuller for the first time and I felt fresh and ready the next day after a workout. I ran out of Cellmass, and again used the Met-RX mono I had combined with Nitrix and NO-Xplode. This is where things began. 5g pre and 5g post workout, and 5g before bed on non-training days. After 2 maybe 3days, I experienced hardcore stomach cramps in the mornings, combined with gas and runs. Sometimes, I would wake up at weird hours sweating and literarily, burning up. Muscles did get harder, but I also got oily skin. After 2weeks of this, I stopped taking the mono, all the sides went away within 3days. I'm now taking DS Xceed (lovin it) and CL Magnitude (better taste than Cellmass, also works well) and I have no sides linked to these products. Ofcorse, YMMV as we are all different and react differently.

Other Ingredients: Natural and Artificial Flavors and Colors, Malic Acid, Acesulfame Potassium, Silicon Dioxide, Sucralose. just happened to notice this when reading about Green MAGnitude, my chemistry teacher said pure sand(not beach sand) is Silicon Dioxide. quote:
Directions: To assess your individual tolerance to the supplement, combine 1/2 scoop with 3-4 oz of cold water and consume before or after your workout. Shake well before drinking. Combine 1 scoop with 6-8oz of water, and consume pre or post workout. those directions aren't very clear, how are you taking it lonewolf?

Silicon dioxide is the mineral quartz, which is the most abundant mineral in sand (and one of the most abundant minerals in the Earth's crust generally). It's also the primary constituent of glass. It's pretty well inert. It's used in small amounts as an anti-caking agent in various things.

Could you tell more Dan? Everyone suggested I take 5g pre/5g post and 5g non-workout (forums, the manufacturer, my training buddy)

Effectiveness of most any supplement comes down to dose and duration. The effective dose on the manufacture site is based on averages from research. That does not mean it applies to you. Some people need 10g a day to see results, some need 5g a day, some respond well to only 2g a day. Conversley, some may experience discomfort at 5 or 10 grams... So what you are really looking for is to determine the minimum dose that gets you results. Probably around 1.5 grams. And perhaps the dose that gets you maximal results with no ill effects. Perhaps 3 g for you... How can you compare? You have to keep a journal telling of daily performance, recovery, etc. Take 6 weks off Creatine and then start with a 1.5 gram dose. Go 3 weeks and see how things change. Try a 2g dose for 6 weeks and see. Try 3g for 6 weeks and see. This is a single, daily dose. Creatine is systemic..unlike protein or carbs that require frequent reloading...it resides in the system and recycles. All you do is maintain the daily load and the body maintains a higher threshold amount.

I don't pre-mix in water..I take water in my mouth and put the spoonful in my mouth and mix it there! Mmmmmmmm. I have heard for many supplements it needs to enter your muscles in liquid form. Just swallowing the creatine then washing down with water will work?

I have to say I feel like I respond to the newer creatines better as well. I first tried mono at 16, I didn't know what the hell I was doing and I didn't get much in terms of results. Cee gave me good valumization but really not much strength gain. Now I'm using storm which is tricreatine malate, dicreatine malate, mono, and magnesium creatine chelate. I have to say I never saw rapid strenght gains like this before. Every workout is just new pbs across the board. And no bloating at all. I use just 5g a day. So Lonewolf, how do you feel about Vault? Not realy that good? But Dan, cee must be better absorbed then mono doesn't it? I mean you only need about 3g a day to reach saturation. You can use lower doses with it.

Thing is Dan, that the dose remained unchanged, same as before, taken at the same time as before. My training times did'nt change either. when you changed brands, you changed formulations...also you changed the coctail of supplements a little...
