Multivitamin help!!
-
Tuesday, February 13, 2007 10:23 PM
Hey i am currently taking a multi, centrum with lycopene. I am weight training 3-5 days per week and was wondering if this was sufficient or if Animal Pak is better? Or any other suggestions... is there really a difference or can i just take the Centrum?

Look at the quantity of the vitamins on the label, you will find that Centrum is way too expensive for what you get. Most generic store brands will give you what Centrum does. If you have a Costco membership, their Kirkland brand is way cheaper and more potent. If you go with Animal Paks you will be getting alot more than Centrum can offer.

I think you're getting the wrong point optimumhealth. A supplement is suppose to fill in the gaps, not substitute for all your supplements. If you are eating a range of foods, then I believe any decent supplement will do. With your comparision with Centrum, and Animal Pak, you have calculate the difference in the cost! Animal Pak is much more expensive.

The amount of Vitamins in Centrum is small. That's where cost is coming into play.

Animal Pak is one of my favorite supplements, up there with ON 100% Whey Gold.

You'd have to take ATLEAST two a day. And like I stated above, they use synthetic vitamins. Not to mention all the other things Animal Pak adds in.

Probably wouldn't be a good idea to take two a day, some of the vitamins you may overdose on, and some may cause serious side effects if do. BTW, what do you mean by synthetic vitamins?

You have to have over 10,000IU of Vitamin A and 1-1,1200 IU of D. Natural vitamins (D-Alpha) come from soil, soy..ect. Synthetic Vitamins (DL-Alpha) come from coal, oil..ect. That 100% of RDA is obsolete, which is what Centrum uses.
