Yeap still following the 3-days per week training plan from t-nation. For my HIIT, i'm in to week 2 now. It feels good doing HIIT really tiring.

As for my diet, I'm still eating bread every now and then with some goat's cheese. Can't get it back home. Sometimes i overeat protein on one meal like yesterday we ate a goat's leg and i prolly ate 1.5kg worth of it =/. I like meat alot haha. I've also began eating alot of Scotch fillets / porterhouse steaks for my 6 meals. I try to trim off the fat as much as possible before cooking and add a tiny bit of salt and pepper for seasoning before i bbq them. Is this ok?

Also Dan, I've gota friend who has little or no clue on how to manage their diets properly and they eat their basic 3 meals a day consisting of fried food from the school canteen for lunch. (Not sure what dinner is like for them). Yet, he is so well built around his upper body. Even his gym training is weird cause he spends 2 hours+ in the gym working on Chest Bicep Triceps (Shoulders and delts) some time. His good abs and big muscles yet he eats such food in school. How come this is possible? Does genes play a big part in muscle building? I notice that my stomach has grown bigger yet my arms are the same. Is it cause i'm lifting too light or my diet is too plagued with unhealthy food?

It has to do with a few factors.  Geneics is one.  Unique Body chemistry another.

You know your diet is not ideal and your training not consistently optimal.

If you are tracking body composition, then you can make informed alterations in what you eat and what you do.

Eat well, train smart and rest!

If you eat at maintenance and train smart for your goal, you should be able to manipulate everything to gain muscle and trim some fat.

Decide what the main goal is.  If you want to have more muscle, then turn your focus there.  Later you can cut it up.

Make a meal plan that meets your needs...if oil fits in..

As for eating bread while bulking.  Depends on your carb tolerance.

I rerely ever eat bread.  I know a few others who eat 2-4 pieces a day bulking.

Since your goal is not competitive, your focus might include overall health.  In which case you want to choose foods that support long term health and fitess.

Just watch how you respond to foods.

Yes, that hunger is probably indicative of a sensitivity.  But bread is sugar and eaten alone any sugar will do this.

Cheat meal.

Funny.  I eat what I plan to eat.  Any time I go out, eat at friends, or can not get to my planned meal and have to wing it...that is a cheat meal.

Almost always, I include a lean protein and a vegetable.

I don't have cravings any more.  I love the way "eating right for me" feels.  I thrive on that.  That is my reward for everything...!

Last few weeks, I had some DARK DARK Organic DARK chocolate with espresso beans in it.  Probably a cup worth over a few weeks.  the sugar gave me crvings..but the espresso jumped my metabolism as well...so I ate more salmon, avocado, and beef.

This last couple days there were potato chips...a certain type ..and I ate them for extra calories...and THAT showed on my body!  No more of that.  Made me tired too.

Anyway..I tend to only eat what I plan...but that is an example of a few cheats that put me off target.

By the way, I am traveling...so eating is interesting!

Haha your so good at noticing changes! I hate the fact that fat gets on faster then muscles!I tend to eat unhealthy stuff when i travel =/

Theres something i don't quite get now, brown rice long grain for example has 78g carb / 100g raw while it has 28g carb / 100g cooked. Why is this?

If everything is going well...fat does not go on faster than muscle.

As for th rice, it is based on weight....a gram is a measure of weight.
So the wet weight means less rice than the dry weight.

Workout yesterday was fantastic. Did power cleans for the first time and it sure as hell was very tiring. Ran out of ideas for chest exercises so i did seated chest press almost similar with week 4 & 5. As for Cardio, the 7 min 30 sec HIIT run made me feel like falling over. Body is aching today especially my legs and abs.

Btw Dan, If i'm trying to lose fat but gain muscle should i be looking to gain 1-2 pounds a week or lose 1-2 pounds a week? therefore how much calories should i increase/decrease my intake by when i stop adding/losing pounds? Are fat loss products like hydroxycut redundent with my dieting?

Snatches?  Whoa..thats ambitious. Smile

Just a note:
The basic power movements (snatch, cleans, etc) require a higher level of movement training to perform them safely and optimally.

Just pick up where you left off with the diet, ID why you miss meals and correct it. Smile

Haha..i coudlnt think of anything else and snatches were the only lower-back other then the rest i've done listed in waterbury's optimal results list for TBT.

Also had a great cheat meal today with cakes and icecream heehee =D.  Felt great to eat somethng different from the diet for the week =D.

Should i be looking to gain pounds or lose pounds per week if i'm trying to cut BF% but gain muscle? I've been measuring my weight also on monday mornings after workout at the gym. Was wondering if there a better time i could do it? not sure if me eating a cheat meal will "intefere" with it. Would friday be better?

Muscles still Aching today especially Lower-Back. Didn't have a good 6 meals today ended up eating only 3 meals because i was out at the cinema and then went to play bball. I tried to eat more for each of the 3 meals but couldn't eat that much.

Started listening to daniel Gastelu's seminars. Finding it really interesting =D and helpful.

Just wondering which fish oil should i get? http://www.tsw.com.sg/product_category.asp?category=28

Ad far as the products you link to I would say the 200 capsule NOW is the best on the page.  However, price wise, it is pretty high for fish oil at about $0.23 per mg of fish oil.  Below I have information from a post I just did elsewhere and it will give you more info and a price comparison.

You want a source certified free of impurities such as these:
Liquid Fish Oil
Or
Soft Gel Fish Oil
Or
Krill Oil

Note: (NOW Omega-3 is also "screened for the absence of potentially harmful levels of contaminants")

You can read this post for more informationon Fish oil
http://www.discussbodybuilding.com/m_114653/mpage_1/tm.htm#114731

You can also read this post for more information on EFAs from Flax and Krill..
http://www.discussbodybuilding.com/m_217471/mpage_1/tm.htm#217471

Now, comparing Fish oil to Krill oil (best product and prices including shipging...)

Carlsons liquid = 320 x 500mg servings $29.00 (100 servings of 1 teaspoon that are 1600 mg) = 0.0906 per 500 mg
Carlson's soft gels = 156 x 500mg servings $24.00 (130 caps that have 600 mg per capsule)  = 0.154 per 500 mg
Krill oil = 60 x 500 mg servings for $27.00 (60 caps that are 500 mg capsules)  = 0.45 per 500 mg

...you can see that krill oil is about 3-5x as expensive as fish oil!

NOTE ABOUT KRILL OIL:
WARNING: If you are allergic to shellfish, have a blood coagulation disorder, or are taking anticoagulants such as Warfarin (Coumadin), do not use. Also, Antarctic Pure Krill Oil is very stable and will last up to 3 years. However, do not store it in the freezer or refrigerator; temperatures higher than 100 degrees or lower than 50 degrees diminish effectiveness of the phosopholipid ingredients.

I see. I guess i'll just buy the fish oil for now.How do you usually take your fish oil? just have it with everyone of the 6 meals? how about multivitamins tablets?

Dan should i be looking to gain a pound a week if i'm trying to cut fat but gain muscle? and should BF% be checked every week?
