I dont think its that much. 20 lb's in 5 months? thats 4 lbs of fat a month. With your begennier gains I think you'll attain your goal with some cardio work. 20lbs if fat in 5 months which since your a noob you may not lose much. weight but your BF may drop a bunch.

To be honest I don't see it add up on me either. I mean I weigh more than my dad, though I look much smaller and seeing this guy: [click here] claim only 190lbs and roughly the same height, I have a completely different body and shape and I don't look as though I wiegh even close to the same weight. On top of that he even claims a much lower BF% than I have... I am confused, I have no idea where my weight is from... heavy bones? lol

8 week report:

bicepts: 13.75" (thats +1.25" gain)
Weight: 184 lbs (+10)

I think I am gaining too much fat and my diet has gone down the drain :( Starting in May I am going to cut down to at least 12% bodyfat (maybe lower, then I will bulk again more cleanly).

I think these two months have proved though that I gain muscle nice and easy :) I loose weight super easy too, so I better watch how fast I loose it... I dont want to loose muscle. In the past I have been able to loose 12 lbs in a week. Sure it was probably mostly water but I dont think it is so healthy to loose so much so fast.

Anyway, here is an up to date pic but it is clear that I have gained some fat to. I think the chest and sholders show the biggest difference.

Well safe to say that I am glad I am cutting. Just thinking about it, I know I won't have a nice low bodyfat for beach season, but maybe after around 4 months I can get down to 10 - 12% bodyfat (End of August). I am nearly done my first week and I am feeling amazing. I haven't weighed myself yet, but I know it has to be lower. As well, I haven't lost anything on my arm and chest measurements so that looks good so far.

Mind you it has only been around 4 or 5 days but I have noticed a few changes since I started cutting:

• Less appitite -> Because I am eating smaller portions more often (around 6 times a day)
• More energy -> I have found that the cardio after my workouts has given me more energy through the day.
• Less bloating after meals -> The healthier foods I am eating I believe have really helped.
• I seem to get full faster -> Likely because I eat less more often.
• I Poop more -> Haha sad but true, I poop at least 4 times a day now (likely due to the whole grains and salad I am eating).

I think its crazy how I am allready noticing this stuff in less than a week. I have been completely dedicated to my diet though and haven't cheated at all.

Here is what my current diet plan looks like:

Daily Caloric Intake= 2000 Calories

Protien = 30% = 600 kCal = 150g (-75 for 3 protein shakes = 75g)
Carbs = 55% = 1100 kCal = 275g (-12 for the 3 protein shakes= 263g)
Fat = 15% = 300 kCal = 33.3g (-4.5 for the 3 protein shakes = 28.8g)

***Tell me if you guys think the above diet wont 'cut' it!***
 
So, with all of that said, my goal is to loose at least 1 pound of fat per week for at least 16 weeks (4 months..ish).

My bodyfat when I started working out over two months ago was 20 - 22% I am assuming that it went down a little bit with my 2 months of bulking. I really really need a stinkin' bodyfat analyser or calipers or something!

Motivation is not a problem for me now, I am 100% completely motivated.  

This week I have been nearly perfect to the above caloric intake and ratios.

A typical day looked like this:

Wake up (8:30am) = Protein Shake

Breakfast (9:00am) = Bowl of Cheerios and low fat milk or orange juice.

Lunch (11:30am) = Large pita stuffed with lettuce, green pepper, tomato, lean grilled chicken and 15mL of sweet onion sauce.

Snack (3:30pm) = Whole can of Cambells chicken noodle soup, baby carrots w low fat ranch.

After Workout and Cardio (4:00pm) = Protein Shake

Dinner (5:30pm) = Lean Chicken breast, one cheddarworst sausage, rice and sweet potatoes.

Snack (8:30pm) = Some soda crackers with some tuna.

Before bed (10:00pm) = Protein shake

Anyway I think this post is long enough for now Smile

9 Week Report:
 
Weight: 181 lbs (-3lbs since last week, + 7 lbs from start). I am feeling really great about cutting, it will give me an awesome base to bulk a little from.

Well today I weigh in at 177lbs (-7lbs since I started cutting... overall: +3)

I will have more to report in a bit, I am very busy right now.

next goal: Be down to 160lbs by the end of July!

I think my cutting is going great! as you can see by this progress thread, I am cutting perfectly at 2 lbs per week! My arm measurements have only dropped 0.25" and I personally think that is just the fat that I am shedding. If I were to guess my bf% right now I would say its around 13 - 14%. This is just a guess, but I believe thats where I am at.

I have also looked at my progress and have created some new goals.

• I plan to be down to 160 lbs by August 1, 2007. (Very obtainable given my steady progress)
• Then I will cleanly bulk 15 lbs (I will give myself 3 months or untill November 1, 2007).

This will yield a final weight of: 175 lbs and hopefully 8 - 10 % BF. It will be neat to see the final pictures because I started at 174 lbs (20% BF) and I will literally finish at 175 lbs (8 - 10% BF) which is only a 1 lbs difference. I may want to bulk up to 180... we will see.

Week 15:
 
170 lbs (-14 since started to cut - Overall - 4). Everything seems to be going as planned. I may need to drop down to lower than 160 lbs. I will post some pics when that time comes and ask you guys for some insight.
