Could it be the fat intake?

It is most likely that you do not have enough carbs.
Also, your protein could be too high.  This could make you feel tired as well.

It could even be the training and new diet.

Keep in mind that you are learning about what really works for you on a trial basis!

You are doing great.

Fat is a fantastic energy substrate and essential for the production of testosterone and other growth hormones, you would notice it on a meal by meal basis if you were fat sensitive (like eating a shoe!)

quote:

Mayb not after today's buffets =( (my sis's birthday, gotta eat =D)

LOL. Love that!! I hope it was fun!!
Don't worry about 1 day.  Don't even think about it.

If you are optimizing your metabolism 6 days a week and have one cheat day, your body jsut burns right through it!

One thing I've learned to do, but this is only my opinion ... when I eat bad I try to do so moderately.  For example, lets say I have a buffet style dinner (which I do tomorrow), I try to stick to whats good ... see if they have some brown rice, if not I'll try to get some salad, roast beef, and some sweet potatoes.  If all the food is absolutely horrible, I just try to eat less then I typically would.

Don't worry about being guilty, it was only a day.  Plus, several hours of cardio isn't going to do much for you anyway as Dan has stated over and over.

Try this, just do your normal workout tomorrow, but try to do it in less time then you did previously ... this will make a much more intense workout.

That's just my $.02

Also, you said you write down everything in a journal ... why not put that journal online in a thread to track your progres ... this way others can comment on what your doing and keep you on track.

Cardio does very little.

Stay positive and see the food enriching your muscle!!!

As I said:
Don't worry about 1 day.  Don't even think about it.

If you are optimizing your metabolism 6 days a week and have one cheat day, your body just burns right through it!

Just pick up where you left off and stay on track!

You are doing fine!!!

Just remember not to eat so much next time Smile

If you ate every 3-4 hours, ate until you were not hungry, and all those meals were supportive...then you did good.

(If you did that because you thought it would offset your eating the other day...well, it is flawed thinking. Smile)

As for me, when I am in training mode, I eat what I have on my meal plan.  I love the feeling of full energy and high vitality...and accomplishing my goals week to week. Smile

The ideal goal is to make a weekly meal plan adn eat by that.  That way you know you get what you need!

It is not essential of course to make a plan if you do not have a specific fitness goal in mind, but it is very effective!!!

When fat loss is the goal, it is not optimal to have sugar.

If there is sugar then make sure it is with a meal..a lean protein, starchy carb and fibrous carb.

You just need to know that the sugar makes it harder to actually lose fat.  So, you want to minimize sugar intake.  Avoiding it is best...however...you should still keep the cheat day open for it.

After a while you may not want it.  But keep a day open for it.

I am saying they are not optimal if fat loss if the goal and limiting or dropping them in the diet, as Linda points out, it can make fat loss more efficient.

Sugar cravings mean you are eating too much sugar.  They are neurotransmitters that will course for about three days after eating sugar....go 3 days without sugar to get over it.

Sorry, Antagonist is a physiology word  A muscle you are working is an "Agonist"  the opposing muscle is the "Antagonist."

So the Antagonist for biceps is triceps, quads is hams, pectorals is latissimus...etc.

There is a physiological response to training antagonists...thats why he did it that way.

Dan i have a hibit of waking up later on day offs like instead of waking up at 7 i wake up at 9 or even 10 hence my meals go later into the day like my 5th meal is at 9 pm and my last at 1130/12pm . Is this by any means a problem? also how come most people who post about diets say tat high protein diet is better for fat loss?

I've noticed my stomach becoming more watery lately and i find it hard to tell if i've put on fat around it. Is it normal that my stomach become flabbier?
