ORIGINAL: veggeep I'll be 35 in exactly nine days. I'm staying the hell out of this forum as loooooong as I can Come . . . join us . . . you'll still be a pretty boy! Really, dreading middle age is silly, now that I've hit it. I feel like at 40 I'm in my prime. As I told a coworker, yeah, I tire more easily, some adipose has recorded its deed in my midsection, but these things can be changed (and are being so). In the meantime, I have finally at least some decent life experience, my career has stabilized, and I'm in a terrific relationship (and feel like I can maintain it!). Maybe I'll finally be old when I hit 70 . . . or 80 . . . 90??

HA HA HA! Yes indeedy It's official! I can now post in the "Over 35" forum -though, for a while at least, I will be the youngest person doing so "legally", LOL! And yes, I think I actually do like that

Yes, that's me in my avatar, and NO, I don't look like that today. That was taken back in Jan '07, and I lost most of that progress when I slacked off last year. I'm on my way back, tho, and I'm using that photo for inspiration.

I'm not quite in this age group yet- I'm 33 for a few short months but I would like to get this forum going because I think that there are specific issues and perspectives that may be different from many people 1/2 our age- not that those aren't important.

Add another to your roll call. I'm 38, and wondering just how much I can accomplish. Wish I hadn't taken that decade off..........

Glad to see I'm not the oldest one here. New to the forum and very glad I found this place. Lot's of useful information. I'm 56, been doing weight training for many years. After all this work if I die before I'm 80 I'm going to be real upset. I can say that I continue to add muscle mass so being over 50 isn't an issue. My metabolism has definitely slowed down. My work outs are focused on single muscle groups once a week, I've found I need the extra recovery time. I do weight training 4-5 times a week and cardio 3-4 times. My goal for the next month is to focus on fat burning so I'm reducing the weight training and increasing the cardio. We'll see how it goes. Currently; 5'9" 195 lbs 49" chest 35" waist arms 17.5" I'd like to get down to 180-185lbs and take another inch or so off my waist. I'm trying to figure out the best diet to follow since I can't digest carbs and I follow a very low carb diet (<50g a day).

I'm 47 as of Jan 19th . I just started lifting again after taking a 13 year break. Is that to long to let muscles recoup?I went from 175 to 240 in that 13 years and am now at 222 after 3 weeks of diet and exercise...Anyways... I feel I am better armed with the aid of this forum... However there is a whole lot more info to sift thru to get a good plan in motion again. I might try the Max-ot method.
